Somerset / Re: Joseph MILLARD, Somerset
« on: Tuesday 26 July 11 04:22 BST (UK)  »
Hi Jessie Mum
I am a 3 x gr grandaughter of Robert Millard, I to am trying to find out about his father Joseph, My Gr Gr grandfather  Frederick Millard  who was born on the 31.1.1831 came to New Zealand in 1854.
All that I have about Joseph is what Dr. Andrew Millard has given to me. That Joseph's wife was Hannah.
In thee family bible that Andrew has is the birth of Robert as 26th Dec 1789 in London. This was written in the bible by Roberts son Walter. The bible also states that Robert was the second son of Joseph Millard.
Hope this is of some help

Hi Helen
My Gr. Gr Grandmother was Jane Maria Streeters,
Jane Married Frederic Millard on the 28.9.1861 at Wiemar West,Frederic lived at Wiemar West, Nelson.
Frederic came from Palmerston in Somerset, England.he came on the ship Cashmere in 1859
Jane and Frederic had 9 children and they also help raise Frederic's brother Samuel Millard's children after his wife died.
Jane and Frederic's youngest daughter was born with Downers Syndrome, but they did not put her into a home, she was a much loved child of the family.
My Gr Grandfather was their eldest child Walter, Edwin Millard.
Frederic  met with a tragic accident and drowned in the WA-Ito River at Wiemar West on the 9.4.1896 and is buried in the Family Plot at St. Michaels Church Wiemar West
Jane Maria died on the 2.9.1907.
I have more info if you would like it.
I would also be interested in information on any other members of the Streeters family.
Thanks
Ruth
