Thanks for that, I managed to log in, but I was hoping it would actually have his letters in it, but no luck.

Thanks again

Hi
I have this gentleman as James Thomson b. 1886 - d. 1917, but I believe that to be incorrect (looks too old), possibly a sibling, maybe Robert Black Thomson b. 1880 - d. 1937

Can anyone please help identify the uniform or date, so I can place the photo with the right man?
Thank you,
Darren

Hi,

I'm looking for some general help, I'm thinking about visiting the London Metropolitan Archives tomorrow, am I going to the correct place for records regarding relatives that were lightermen on The Thames in the 1800's also one of them resided in Almshouses in Ditchling and I'm hoping to find some records regarding that as well?

Also, if in the correct place, how difficult might it be?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Darren
