You were obviously meant for each other .
I remember being fixed to the bedroom window as my future OH ,in whites, strolled nonchalantly past with a friend, off to the local tennis courts ,I thought” whoaaaah” he is handsome, then I got back to a bit of swatting for O levels but still watching out for them coming back.
We went out for three years when I was 16 and he 22,   But  he looked about 18.When I found out how old he was I thought better let my parents meet him ——-
before saying his age.He was quiet and very courteous and they liked him, so different to my sister’s boy friend - a very cocky self assured person, the same age as my sister.
We went out for three years and got married when I was 19and he almost 26 .Wish we could do it all again.

A fresh cool day here ,just doing my Tesco order.
Flash Harry,Kyra and puppy up,here at weekend with grandson and other half ,hood thry bring my big suitcase with all my nice clothes in ,it was left there as I came back on the train , sin hsd to go to Head Office and came here via
Birmingham so could not bring my case.
It will all work out ,
Having my hair cut tomorrow ,it was growing quite well but is not thick enough now for any length so a shortish bob -short on top too with enough length for some rollers .
I will still look as if I have just been let out of prison ( in the old days) .
Well must get on with something.
Cheerio ,thanks for the news and look after yourselves.
Viktoria.

I did not read the thankyou post like that ,it seemed a genuine comment in praise of a very good reconstruction , at first glance it does seem as if there is grass on the roofs ,but then you see it is the back lawns of the houses- it is an unusual angle ,almost an aerial shot.
I saw it as just a little jokey comment, with no disrespect intended

I agree, perhaps the there would be fewer fouls ,they are blatant in men’s football, they could end a career .

Quite cool this morning ,weak sunshine .

Post just arrived ,a parcel for my son ,something he had ordered for Flash Harry ,a neat little wooden box, with a sliding top, slide it open and out jumps a black spider two inches across - I nearly had my third heart attack.,
Ugh!
I did it two or three times but it still made me jump.

Hoping the young man who did all my garden so well is here this weekend to do a  proper ramp for the mobility scooter , with handrail for me when I need to go out of the  garden on to the lane as last week when I washed out a dustbin .

Well must get on with something or other -there is a wide choice!
Thanks for your news and hope all are at least safe.
Many of you I know are not well,so many will be thinking of you .
Cheerio .Viktoria,

I enjoyed watching England’s team win yesterday evening .
So few fouls ,if any .
Such a lot are allowed in men’s football, blatant fouls.
Not the true spirit of the game at all.

I wish we could do it all again.

Why is that Jimbo?
Are you very fair skinned or a red head ,people of that colouring are usually very sensitive to sunshine .
Hope you are soon comfortable again .
Well I am off visiting today ,the tiny little lady who had so many problems and eventually was admitted to hospital from  where she was transferred to a care home.
Her daughters were not  very supportive, but there are two sides  to everything aren’ t there .
Another lady who helped her ,has asked me to go with her to the care home this morning .We have had no news from her daughters but someone from The  Blind Society told the lady who is coming today they had contact with the care  home ,they knew she had helped the person we are visiting.
I have a little store of presents for times like this so have chosen a soft
shawl,a big one like a wide scarf, she is so tiny and thin so will feel the cold .
It has a fastening so it will not trip her up if she stands .
Well .look. after yourselves .
Thanks for your news.
Viktoria.
Just back from visiting ,the lady was O.K. Sadly she had forgotten the lady from The Blind Society, and me too.
The lady we were visiting said her hearing aids were not working ,so I asked an attendant to have have a look , and would she try fitting them ,she agreed and hey presto ,the batteries were in wrongly ,so corrected and they worked ,they had been the wrong way round !
We stayed 90 minutes and got the lady laughing .
She likes her shawl/ stole ,I embroidered her initials on the end so hopefully it won’t get lost.
She was wearing clothes much too big for her ,but said all clothes were “communal” they were certainly much too big for her .
It was enjoyable and we had some good laughs —-especially when she asked who told us where she was.
I said Father Christmas had told us ,” Oo you are daft!”

But so many people just snoozing the time away , very sad.

A Pale sun is shining and it is quite fresh.
Need to make a cheese and onion pie for tea, so Cheerio .

There was a scheme organised in Manchester’s poorest neighbourhood ,the inappropriately named Angel Meadow,
The worst slum in Europe .
A centre was opened fot the children to get some education, food and clothing and for girls  shelter.
One of the American writer of Hymns - either Sankey or Moody, visited and he instigated the transporting of those children to American farms .There is no real record of how well they fared, but certainly there were accidents and tragedies.
I have no idea if their parents were consulted or even if the children knew their parents. They literally were street urchins ,begging and probably having to steal to keep alive.
The organisation was called “Charter Street Mission “.
