« on: Monday 30 November 20 14:18 GMT (UK) »Just thought you might be interested in the fact Jane Utterstone had a paternity case against Philip Russell Docherty lance corporal royal Scots in 1917 - child born 1916 at haddington sheriff court - Jane was a widow and living 42 west end tweedmouth - if you go to Maxwell ancesty website you can get access to the record for a small fee

Can anyone confirm that Emma's father was one Christian Kinton, b. 1760, Wiltshire, England?

Hi All
I am looking for info on the ancestors of my wife's grandfather.
GF is Angus Mills, b. 1 Aug 1908, Cathedral St, Glasgow, Scotland.
Some of GF's siblings are (in no particular order) Margaret, John, Jenny (Jennifer?), Grace, Isa and Ann
Angus' parent are John Mills, m. Margaret McVean. That is all the info I have on parents. Ancestry.co.uk shows a partial hint that they might have lived in Wigan during 1881 Census, so I am after any info to verify that. Also interested in marriage details, and their parents etc.
Certainly by 1908 they were in Glasgow... so perhaps this is better placed on that board, but for the "hint"...
Thanks in advance for any info found... perhaps the John and Margaret Mills listed in the 1881 Wigan census aren't the GF's parents... but I just don't know.

Are James, your grandfather, or Nancy still alive? It would be great to find out if he remembers anything that would confirm that "your" Jane Kerse/Utterson is the correct person.

I am looking for further information on Emma Kinton, b. 5 Nov 1791, Farleigh, d. 17 Feb 1879, Grahamstown, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
I know she married Joseph Weakley (1790 - 1863), and they were part of 1820 Settlers to South Africa.
Info on parents and siblings would be nice.

Sorry for the delay. I can't confirm which "Farleigh" but I do know she lived in Frome prior to going to the Cape.
