I have taken a DNA test on Ancestry sometime ago and now someone has suggested that I should download my results to Gedmatch.

If I was to do this could people still see my results on Ancestry? Or, want I think is would be more likely, I would been transferring them totally to Gedmatch?

I am afraid I am more of a "pen & paper" person!

Cornwall / Re: Elizabeth Mary Huthnance

Hi, You are all on right lines.

Elizabeth Mary Huthnance  was my great grandmother. She was born 24 March 1869, Camborne, dau to John Huthnance & Grace (Roskilly). Grace died in 1870 so Elizabeth Mary was living with her father in her grandparents house in Carnarthen Street in 1871. Her father, John, married again on 3 Aug 1871 Grace Eva of Roseworthy. John & Grace (Eva) went on to have a further ten children.

Elizabeth Mary married John Eustice Trestrail in 1890. After John Eustice Trestrail death in 1903, due to a mining accident, she married William Rowling 12 Sept 1925. Elizabeth Mary died in 1935.

I haven't get her birth cert but have the original marriage cert for John Huthnance & Grace Roskilly , a copy of marriage cert for William Rowling & Elizabeth Mary & orginal death cert for William Rowling. William Rowling shows my grandfather has his step-son & informant.

Hope this helps.

Yes- they are related- but not that close. The first John was bapt  17 Nov 1807 at St Uny, Redruth. His parents were Warren Trestrail & Joan (Bawden). Warren was bapt 19 Nov 1768 son of Warren Trestrail & Honour (Johns). Warren(senior) was possibly the son of John Trestrail & Hester (Blyth) from Kenwyn Parish.

The second John was bapt 4 Aug 1829 also St Uny. His parents were John & Mary Ann (Roberts). John was bapt 1 April 1798 son of  John Trestrail & Martha (Luke). John was bapt 24 April 1773 son of Warren & Honour  (Johns).

There were two John Trestrails at the London. The first John Trestrail was a builder & married Nanny Teague in 1843 (a publican who was living in Fore Street in 1841). John & Nanny were in the London in 1851 and he was described as "Innkeeper, Carpenter & Joiner (Master)- employing 2 men & 3 apprentices." By 1861 they were living in Agar Crescent & he is a retired builder. In 1871 John is now a brewery agent & still at Agar Crescent. When Nanny dies her probate shows that John is now the manager of the Redruth Brewery.

The second John Trestrail was in Australia for the 1861 but John & Martha was at the Beer House in Clinton Terrace by 1871. They moved to the London by 1881 & Martha ran it after John's death in 1887 until at least 1891. After which Martha moved to West End where she lived until her death on 27 April 1911.

The occupations of the London in 1901 was Charles & Julia Thomas (of Redruth) & by 1911 this had changed to John & Ellen Jane Daddow (of Illogan).

With another  Public House next door & a second within a minutes walk & two further within five minutes walk I can not see it re opening as a Public House- unless a national chain takes it on.
It is a shame because it is a lovely building & should not be spoilt by re developers.

My grandmother used to walk from Tregajorran, Carn Brea to work at Bickford-Smiths, Tuckingmill during the First World War.

On a modern OS map Voguebeloth is on Basset Road, Illogan. From the crossroads at Paynters Lane End turn towards Gilberts Coombe, Redruth. It starts around the site of the modern day surgery & runs east but finishes before the junction of Merrits Hill.
Genuki has records & more links of the local parish church of Illogan.

Cornwall / Re: John Rule and Mary A Martin Camborne
« on: Sunday 12 May 13 20:02 BST (UK)  »
Camborne is about four to five miles from the nearest ports (Hayle or Portreath) & its main industry was mining so it is likley that John was a miner. During this period it was common for miners to be working abroad so it is possible for John to be in the US or Australia & died abroad.

Have you found Mary in the 1901 to see if she was a widow?
