Leigh is where many Welsh coal miners went to search for work.

This confirms why my Holywell family have been to-ing and fro-ing to Leigh, over several census!  Thanks for that!

Sorry to butt in on your thread Op, I'm researching Edward Roberts born Whitford married to Mary Elizabeth, but alas no connection to yours I don't think.

There was the Royalty Theatre in Chester City. I don't think there would have been any theatres in Newton, being a suburb of Chester but stand corrected on this.

Denbighshire Lookup Requests / Re: butchers shop 6 market place Abergele 1911
« on: Friday 14 August 09 22:39 BST (UK)  »
Hello Valerie.  My o/h remembers Market Place was an alleyway off the main high street in Abergele, sandwiched between the now Midland Bank and a shop called Millwards (milliners and they sold boots too).  Down this alleyway was the butcher's shop and also an ironmongers.  In the early 1970s this alleyway was blocked off.  He remembers the butchers shop was owned by the Davies's but unfortunately cannot throw any light on your Maggie. If he remembers anything else, I'll be sure to post!!  Good luck with your search.

Rory Bremner was on the Richard and Judy show this morning talking about WDYTYA and I was surprised to learn that they research several branches and then decide which one to televise, so lucky him! he has got a complete family tree!
