Jan, do you know who the parents of William Taylor of South Wingfield were - the father of Tryphena?  The reason I ask is that not only am I related to the Balls of Nottingham, but also the Taylors of South Wingfield.  Indeed my 6x great grandmother was another Tryphena Taylor.  There are plenty of Williams born in South Wingfield around 1814 but I know whom they married.  There must be a connection.

Thanks for that wonderful image.  I feel lucky to have come across this correspondence because it has provided a lot of information about the Canadian side of the family.  I already have a lot about those in Nottingham but it is great to find out what happened to the more contemporary descendants.

To clarify, my great uncle was Henry Ball, Markham Ball's cousin.  I also have quite a lot of information about the Ball family in Nottingham if it is of any use.

Aaaron Bonsor Ball and Markham Bonsor Ball were the children of Markham Ball (1845 Spilsby, Lincolnshire) and Eliza Bonsor (1839 Old Radford, Notts).  Markham was the son of William Ball (1811 Lenton, Notts) and Eliza Barker (1818 Stigwould, Lincs).  William's parents were George Ball and Elizabeth Shepherd.  Markham Ball (1845)'s cousin was Sir Albert Ball, Mayor of Nottingham, father of Albert Ball, V.C.

My mother was born in Greenhill Lane in Alfreton (Riddings) in 1915.  Thank you so much for the photographs.
