 no, it is still a mystery and my mother aged 91 still doesn't know why she was born there,
  any help would be much appreciated.

thank you for the reply. i did know about that link. on my mother's birth certificate, her mother is a house keeper but at collingtree lodge owned by her parents. i would love to know if candida cottage had been sold or rented out by 1923.

my mother was born in candida cottage , roade  , northants in1923.
 she did not know who her father was and why she was born there.
 can anyone solve this mystery please? i should be most grateful;

hi there,
 my ancester , ellen cornwall was born in taunton in 1831. her father was staggart cornwall, a musician. i believe he must have been working there at the time as other children were born elsewhere;
 could you help me?

   my elizabeth hockenhull b.1802, living in wybunbury had a daughter mary parker (mygg  grandmother ) who married william lea. there's got to be a connection. i'd like to see your tree; is it on ancestry;co;uk, i'm not a member, can i still view it? my tree is on Genes Reunited, if you'd like to see it;

my ancestor william lea married sarah palin in 1815 and their son married mary parker , the daughter of elizabeth hockenhull in 1848. there were obviously lots of marriages between the same families in cheshire in those days and i am getting very confused;
can anyone give me guidance!!!
