Hello ,
The "there" was Dublin, Ireland circa 1884-1889 as far as i know,
but not an expert.

Hello,
I have a similar picture. Have a close look at the collar dogs (collar badges)
which may identify the regiment.
The DCLI (duke of cornwall light inf.) were there circa 1884-89
after first training in Bodminster.

having son James Dec. 1813 in KingsBrompton.
More questions than answers - can not find a marriage anywhere for them
in Somerset.

My person would be: Sgt. William Vickery #4610
                                  2nd Bat. Grenadier Guards (UK)
                                  died May 5, 1901 from enteric fever.
                                  buried - harrismith cem.
