Fife / Trying to find William Hamilton a long lost cousin.
« on: Monday 26 October 09 11:22 GMT (UK)  »
Trying to find a long lost cousin, who I think lives in Glenrothes. I know him from when he lived in Dunfermline. I know he married a person called Jannette in 1964, but have lost contact with him since then. Can anyone help please.

Moderator comment: as this person is (hopefully!) still alive, please pass any information by Personal Message, to protect his privacy and prevent identity theft.  Thanks

Fife / Death of James Jackson please can anyone help.Late 1800's to early 1900's

Can anyone help me find the death cert. or day and date of the death of James Jackson b. 1856 married to Janet Baxter 1878. Janet died in 1883 aged 23. They had two sons the oldest was named John Jackson, the youngest was Francis Baxter Jackson. James was said to be deceased at both their weddings. James would probably have been in his early 40's when he died. James parents were John Jackson and Betsy Gilbert. Have tried Scotlandspeople and Family search. On Scotlandspeople they give a lot of James Jacksons, have wasted a lot of credits only to find the wrong one. I know they lived in Lochgelly, so if any one can help please.

Was there any Jacksons on the school records, I have ancestors from that area, and that time.

Hi all who can help.
How can one find out what their ancestors occupation was from the O.P.R.s. It tells you on the census from 1841, but I am looking for what they did prior to that. Can you find out from any web sites?.  ???

Thanks again Lora,

Yes I probably won't find it, I had a good lot of stabs at it but no luck. I do know who their parents were so will have a stab going further back, and I know who the parents were of Johns Parents, who would be my G.G.G.G.G.Grandparents bu8t I need to confirm this on the O.P.R.s if I can find them, it's always nice to see it written down somewhere isn't it.

Thanks again

Frank.

Hi to who ever can help.
Searching my family tree, I can't seem to find a marriage either in Scotlandspeople or LDS for my G.G.G.Grandfather John Hamilton and G.G.G.Grandmother Janet Hamilton(M.S. Smellie). I have found the birth of their son James Hamilton my G.G.Grandfather with them named in the O.P.R. dated 03/06/1792. I found that John was born abt. 1742, and Janet was Christened abt. 1750 but can't seem to find an O.P.R. entry for them. Can anyone help please.  ???
