Didn't know there was a 3rd lady there.

I presume you got the histories of many of these characters from Dan while visiting.

Dan and Mary, shuttle back and forth between Kerry and Elm Hall.

I also remember a Jimmy Young of "Youngs Garage" on the road to Lucan. I cannot remember if he was a brother or cousin of Bonzo.
I also remember a guy by the name of John Colgan, I cannot remember what his relationship with Bonzo was.

By and large other than Bonzo himself, I don't know much of his larger family.

Dan's wife Mary?. Yes.

Bonzo (Never knew the spelling of his name, RIP) was a familiar and well known character. (him and his collection of Ford Tractors).

Hold on a minute, we have Kay & Catherine with differnt handles, who's talking here.

BTW, My sister, is heading for NZ in a month or 2. Destination, Pamerstown, or Pamerstown North. (is there a difference?.)

Anyway, I checked and there was another sister used to live with Fanny, Biddy or Brigid perhaps.

Hello there

I am interested in researching my mother's family who originally came from Celbridge in Co Kildare. I am very new to all this and would love some guidance on how to proceed.

Can anyone recommend a good internet site to gather information?

My grandmother was born in Elm Hall and her brother was called Art O'Connor. He was an MP and judge I believe. I have a picture of my grandmother's wedding day taken outside the house. My mother mentioned that she had aunts called Fanny and Biddy Ose (I think Bridget Rose). There were other family members I think.

My grandmother was called Anne O'Connor and married my grandfather Sean O'Kane from Limavady in Co Derry. I understand he lost a lot of money in the Wall Street crash.

My great-grandfather's name was Arthur O'Connor and he had a second marriage to Elizabeth Saul. I am unsure if this was my great-grandmother or not.

I would appreciate any help that anyone is able to give. I live in NZ now, so shall be doing everything over the net.

Thankyou in anticipation.

Catherine

Hi, We may be related through marriage.

"Dan" is my aunts husband, and is most likely Annes nephew.
I used to visit Elm Hall (Actually Elm Hall proper no longer exists, just the extensive yards and stables.)
I used to visit "Elm Hall" for vacation and potato digging in the 70's.
Aunt Fannie's house was across the road from the remaining house.

Here are some photos from Jan 08.
This long house is "Elm Hall" as I know it, and the roof beyond the Palm Tree is the roof of "Aunt Fannies".

here is a link to Celbridge, co Kildare.
