Thank you so much for the offer of help.  I have looked through the parish records and i found George Briggs baptism in 1811 the mother was definately Bridget and George seems to be the only child. There is no record of the parents marriage in Colsterworth so i will have to look further afield poss Leics. thanks again   Pat

Thanks Geoff
Never thought of Bridget and Obedience being the same person . On the 1851 census George gave his age as 40 and he died soon after the census.  Will have to think on that one  ???

Leicestershire Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 census Wycomb
« on: Tuesday 01 November 05 09:26 GMT (UK)  »
Thank you so much for looking up the info for me. After many months of searching I am 90% sure these are my Briggs. I have the 1851 census details already thanks to Ancestry and was hoping the 1841 would help confirm things a bit more and hopefully produce a son as the female line seems to change their date and place of birth often  :).  Would anyone be able to inform me where I could obtain baptism  records online.  I have tried family history etc and living in NZ cannot get to the centres to search and it is hard to know what area to ask for.  I have found this site so helpful and the people so friendly you are doing a great service   thanks heaps

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Re: St Anne's ward 1861 Joseph Jackson
« on: Saturday 30 April 05 01:59 BST (UK)  »
Its no wonder I am having a hard job tracing this family  they are definately my Jacksons the birthplaces fit they are the same names at the same adress as on the 1871 but the dates of birth change all the time  in the 1871 it was
Elizabeth  b1811   Eaton  Leics
Eliza         b1848   Whykem Leics
Fanny       b1845   Colsterworth Lincs

Could it be that there are 2 Eliza's and a Fanny and a Frances and they are  going by the stepfathers name as I know his 1st wife Mary died in 1851?
A year or even 2 years difference i could understand but 12 years       Or is it just a mistake ?   any ideas anyone ?
