« on: Tuesday 13 August 24 21:46 BST (UK)  »
Hi Sandra, sorry for the late response.

I wasn't able to obtain James or Helena/Lena's obituaries from the library but did obtain them from a family member. Unfortunately it doesn't record the actual source.

JAMES W. BUCKLEY
The death of James William Buckley, 80, of 339 Third Street, occurred in the city on Sunday Morning. Born m Arnprior, Ontario, the late Mr: Buckley came to Brandon over fifty years age and has resided here since. Unfortunately it doesn't indicate the actual source.

He was employed by the Canadian Pacific. Railway and retired as conductor fifteen years ago. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Conductors and the Knights. of Columbus. He is survived by his wife and one daughter Margaret. A daughter Ruth, Mrs. Urban Hughes predeceased him in 1951. A sister survives, Mother M. St. Joseph of Our Lady of Missions, Regina. Prayer service will be held at the family residence on Monday at 8 p.m. Requiem Mass will be sung at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are with Brockie-Donovan.

ROSARY TONIGHT–LOCAL WOMAN
A Requiem Mass will be held Wednesday for Mrs. Helena Buckley, 79, of 339 Third Street, who died Saturday.

Mrs. Buckley was predeceased by her husband, James W. Buckley. Born in Arnprior, Ont., she came to Brandon at the time of her marriage in 1906.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret, of Brandon, and a sister, Mrs. F. W. Rivett of Montreal. Another daughter, Mrs. Urban S. Hughes, died in 1941. Mrs. Buckley was a member of the St. Augustine’s Church and the Catholic Women’s League.

A rosary will be said at her home today at 8 p.m. Mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church. Interment will be held at Westlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are with Brockie-Donovan.

Marion Simpson Forbes' first husband, George Livingston Hamilton, was my first cousin twice removed.

According to the The National Archives (UK), Marion filed for divorce in 1922. Unfortunately, I don't have the actual records.

I haven't been able to find a record of she and Gerald E V Abbott's marriage. Or of Ida Grizel Hamilton's first marriage.

I've also found Mary's sister, Carmel McDonald, who died in Arnprior, 27 Aug 1957. NO LUCK WITH her brother, James Keyes McDonald. I wonder if you might find something I haven't found.

James was living in Trenton when his sisters, Mary and Carmel died (1956-1957). He married Margaret Lafferty in 1919 and I believe he is buried with her in St James the Minor Cemetery in Stirling, Hastings, Ontario. If I'm correct, James died in 1972, Margaret in 1989.

Thank you so much.

Thank you for the probates, Kloumann! I had only seen the probate indexes. Do you have to manually scroll through the associated images? Are they always alphabetical? I'm not having much luck. Any tricks you can suggest?

I am looking for Emily's father, William Moyer's will which I can't seem to find. He died 25 Nov 1860 in Rathmines, Dublin. I've done a quick look through the images 1860-1865 without any success.

Thanks, J
