London and Middlesex / Cavendish & Bennett Family Connection
« on: Friday 10 September 10 20:32 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I am looking for anyone that may hold the key to the connection between the Cavendish and Bennett families.  Particularly I am interested in Charles Bennett who married Emily Cavendish in London 1871. (His second wife)  Emily's parents were James Robert Cavendish and Louisa Ennis Cavendish and resided in Middlesex.  I find it interesting that in the 1851 census Elizabeth Bennett (niece) is living with the Cavendish family and then in 1861 census James C Bennett (nephew) is living with the Cavendish family.  Both children belong to Charles Bennett.  It makes me wonder if Charles' first wife was not James Robert Cavendish's sister and then his second wife is really his niece Emily. Charles Bennett was a well know auctioneer in Dublin Ireland and his father's name was William Bennett.  Any insight would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Ellen

Hi I was wondering if anyone would have time to help me find the gaves of my family in Mt. Jerome Cemetery.  I will be visiting Ireland in a few weeks and would love to visit the graves.  The information I have is:

Charlotte Bennett Taylor of 4 Sallymount Av. Ranelagh died 8 February 1879  buried at Mt. Jerome
Elizabeth Taylor of 4 Sallymount Av. Ranelagh died 23 September 1876 buried at Mt. Jerome
James H Taylor or 3 Sallymount Av. Ranelagh died 11 October 1878 buried at Mt. Jerome

I do not have the gave location.  Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Ellen

Well Quaxer you really have helped me open a can of worms!!  I was able to get on the Irish Times site and look up some of the information you provided me with.  Image my surprise and shock to see that William Taylor died in Gonzales County Texas in the US!  What the on earth was he doing there??  This is now my quest to find out.  I did find there was a very violent and bloody feud that was going on in that area Texas during this time and it was called "The Taylor-Sutton Feud".

Also I must thank you so very very much as I now know where my Irish relatives are buried and look forward to visiting the cemetery.

This board and everyones help is so great!

Hi,
It could be Unitarian  but the FHL film lists them as Presbyterian Collection Eustace Street Church which no longer exists.  It is the "The Ark" children's center now.  Here is a link to the film I was looking at.

Dear Quaxer,
Thanks for the reply.  I logged on to the Irish Times pay site but I must not be searching correctly because I can's get the preview of the below to show up.  I want to make sure I am searching properly before I comitt to paying.  Could you give me some search tips for that site?  As for the children I am still working on them.  I have ordered some tapes form the Civil Registry so I can find more information.  I know the below:

Elizabeth - No Records
William George - Solicitor
Charles - No positive identifying records
Augustine - No records
Alfred James - Settled in Rhodesia
Harriette - married a Solicitor (records ordered)
James- Liverpool to Halifax Canada with Adrian
Adrian - Liverpool to Halifax to USA (Chicago Ill)
Maude - No Records

Hopefully between the records I have ordered and the ITs I will be able to find more.
Thank you,
Ellen

Thank you so much for this information.  I would love to have the resources.  I am almost positive this is my Taylor family.  The youngest children of Willam and Charlotte were born in Sandford.  I think Myra is William George Taylor's wife (son of William and Charlotte).  From my research I know that  Alfred Taylor and  his son William Taylor were solicitors located on Great Brunswick.  I will be visiting Ireland next month and am very excited and would love to find my ancestor's gravesites.

Again thank you!

Dublin / Presbyterian Cemetery Ideas
« on: Wednesday 29 July 09 21:24 BST (UK)  »
I am having a heck of a time with my Dublin Ireland Relatives!  It seems I am only able to confirm what I already know.  I am trying to press on and see what I can find.  I am looking for the most likely cemetery they may be buried in.  The names where William Taylor and his wife was Charlotte Bennett Taylor.  Both seems to be dead by 1880.   I would say they died between 1868 and 1880.  They were members of the Eustace St. Church and were Presbyterian.  They lived in the subburbs of Dublin, I believe in the Rathmines area.  William was a solicitor as was his father Alfred Taylor.  Can anyone tell me what might be the best cemetery to start looking at?
Thanks,
Ellen

Hi Richard,
Sometime back we exchanged messages about the Taylor family.  You had stated that you thought Harriette was your grandmother but needed proof and had a flight to Ireland coming up.  Just wondering if you made the connection.  I am still pretty stumped on what happened to all the Taylor children and getting any information past William and Charlotte.  I just booked my trip to Ireland today so I will be going over in September.  Any tips on research you could pass on?
Thank you,
Ellen
