Alison,

Thank you for your reply, I have sent you a personal message in hope that we can share some information. If William is your 2xgreat grandfather then we definitely close family!

Hi, I'm normally a lurker, but I found this while searching on Google so had to reply!

I believe we may share someone in common through the Julia Wickham you mention.

Julia is the daughter of Maria Heath and Edgar Wickham. Maria is my great x4 granddad's (Francis Wilson Heath) sister. If this connection is correct then it would be great to share information as I have little on that side of the family.

Thank you for the welcome and thank you all for being so thorough!

All the facts point to Ann Eliza that she died unmarried, so this William and Ann must be friends to Francis rather than relatives as I first thought.

Thanks again everyone, one puzzle down several more to go ;)

Should I edit the title of this thread to say it is solved?

Census and Resource Discussion / 1871 census entry - but already dead? - completed

Hi all.

I'm normally a lurker, but have decided to post about a detail in my family tree that has been annoying me lately!

I have a printed family tree that was passed down to me, it's quite old and very sparse on details. my 4 times great grandfather is Francis Wilson Heath, born 1808. He has two sisters Ann Eliza Heath who married William Gresham and Maria Heath who married Edgar Wickham.

Francis appears on the 1871 census as visitor to William and Ann Gresham. However, I found an Ann Eliza Heath on the probate calendar released on Ancestry recently who died in 1864 and named her brother, Francis, as executor.

Do you think the printed family tree I have is wrong? As surely they wouldn't enter her on a census after she died? The probate entry must be correct as they name Ann and Francis as siblings. I apologise for the long post, I have a lot of missing links on my family tree so lots of questions to ask!

What is everyone's take on this?

Thanks, Kirsty
