Census and Resource Discussion / Can't read census entry - help!
« on: Monday 02 March 09 20:06 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone help decipher what the "day" reference is in this excerpt from the 1851 census? I know that the person in question was an Ag Lab and Chelsea Pensioner, but don't know what the rest is!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Lisa

I ordered three separate certificates, and all three arrived within a week - I filled in the form that was on the website, and put a cover sheet with the whole of the reference that I got from the database (minus the bits that are purely for the LDS), then faxed it.

I wish that it went beyond 1922 for the North!

The Lighter Side / Re: BBC TV "WDYTYA?" Series 6 Episode #1: Rory Bremner

There's an article in today's Daily Mail Weekend magazine saying that Lisa Kudrow's (this is for Lydart - she's an actress who played Phoebe in "Friends"  ;D ) production company is making an American version of WDYTYA, with Lisa as the first subject, tracing her ancestry in Belarus.

Susan Sarandon and Sarah Jessica Parker are also confirmed - I'd be interested to see the series - I wonder whether they'll ever show it over here.  ???

According to the WDYTYA website, the BBC is planning to show this here.

RE searching for records after 1922, I believe that these are not available for Northern Ireland, just for the Republic for Ireland.

More info can be found by going to the homesearchpage and clicking on europe, then going to the very bottom of the listings and clicking on Ireland, Civil Registration Indexes.

There should be a description of the information held therein.

Hope that helps - it doesn't seem to link at all!

Hi Hodgkiss

I'd be really really grateful if you could do a search for me?

His name is Constantine Gogas, and he appears in the Western Mail (Wales) at some point in the 1880s - I did find him during the free search period, but didn't save the date! D'oh!

Thankyou so so much!

Lisa
