Hi My greatgrandmother was called Florence Brighton/nee Pickering, had my grandad when working as a housekeeper but then went on to marry Mr Brighton...as being illigitimate was shameful in those days my we never talked about Grandads father, but notice there was a Percival Chapman on the names you give ,but the dates dont add up to him being..my grandad's dad and funnily enough my Grandad was called Percy Pickering and he was born in Seaton Ross around 1915 and died around 20 years ago.

Hi
I dont seem to be able to reply to personal messages....I am trying to find who my Grandfather's father was .I know he was a Chapman from Seaton Ross and not married to my Grandad's mother ,she was the housekeeper. My grandad was born in roughly 1915 before his father married.
I have so little to go on other than the name Chapman and no first name.
I will have to make the time to go to Seaton Ross and look in the Parish records. ;D

Hi
I too am trying to research Chapmans in Seaton Ross which makes me wonder if we could have an ancestor in common, not that yet I know much more than the name Chapman and the place. Please could you let me know if you have found much out.
Thanks ;D
