Hi Nametabpoppy & Sarah
Thank you - I found it!!!  :) :)
Actually (confession time!) it seems I’ve used PM before, all be it years ago! (Doh!)...  I really do need to retire and make more time to do my ancestral research before I lose my marbles...  :o

Hi nametabpoppy
And a merry Christmas to you too...

No, I’m afraid other than the messages in this link I don’t appear to have had any further messages from you..
When you say you sent a private message to me, do you know where it might appear / how I might be able to check elsewhere?
I look forward to hearing from you
Cajondy

We should definitely connect - for sure we are distant cousins ☺️
A number of the ancestral homes you have mentioned are also ancestral homes of my Bateman’s - and many I’ve visited as part of my ancestral research - Knott Hall being the most recent (all be it 5 or so years ago). It was under significant renovation and modernisation at the time - as was the home of my great grandmothers house which could surely be seen from the distance
How lucky my great grandparents were to live in what must have been such an unblemished part of the world - marred now by the M6, but still adequately remote to be tranquil
I’ve not had much time for my ancestral research these last few years, but do look forward to retirement (one day) and more time to drill further in to my roots
Keep in touch - even if you don’t get a reply for a while

Hi
And welcome to roots chat...
Your relative that did family tree research wasn’t by any chance DEREK Bateman was it?

I’ve not done much more research the last few years, but hoping to get back in to it soon

My mother was a Bateman (maiden name)... would be good to get in touch once you’ve got a bit more familiar with your family tree, etc

thank you so much for checking - most kind....

I wonder, do you (or anyone else reading this) know, if births in PentreFoelas way back in 1843 would be more likely to have been registered in Llanrwst, Ruthin or Corwen? I'm thinking Im going to have to buy every sinlge record of births from 1843 in the area to locate this dear lady's father for sure... Whilst I know from her marraige certificate his name, I'd somehow feel much more comfotable once I have her birth certificate (gulp, sounds like this could be very expensive!)

thank you all once agin

kind regards
Cajondy
