Lanarkshire / Re: Christening look-up please

Hi Celia,

I know the church to be Lanark parish itself. A family member found the reference by looking at an index, however I'm unable to go to Glasgow archives myself to look it up. I was aware that it was not on the IGI.

Thanks,
Stew

Hi Ryan,

I saw the photograph in a book about towns & villages in County Durham at my local library. If I have time this week, I'll see if I can get it up for you.

Best wishes,

Stew

Hi,

My great great grandmother was born in Havannah in 1857. It was in the ecclesiastical (church) district of Tanfield, and that is where she was christened. I have seen an old photograph of it dating back from the 1870's which shows a short terraced row of houses in the middle of a field. I'm not sure if it could be said to be part of anywhere - I've always understood it to be of the tiniest of little hamlets.

Lanarkshire / Christening look-up please
« on: Sunday 28 September 08 19:31 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I am very keen to look-up the christening of Daniel Vair Wilson - he was born 21 April 1809 in Lanark and was christened there on 16 May 1809. I believe his parents were James Wilson and Mary Gibson, however I know nothing about them which is why I would like to look-up the record and see what it says. If anyone can help, I would be very grateful.

Best Wishes

Stew
