London and Middlesex / Re: Wrong baptism all along.
« on: Friday 12 July 24 17:37 BST (UK) »But then I found in July 1754 an Eliz Newman burial in St Dunstan, daughter of Anthony. Found through the new LMA indexed 1538-1812 London records. That shows to be cautious esp with common names such as Newman.
Afternoon Ben.
I just want to mention as an aside, really, that I think Anthony Found could be of the Lafon/La Fon family who were Dutch (Leiden and Amsterdam) and French Huguenot.
I've not had a chance to look but came across the Lafon/La Fon family last night whilst looking again at my Cressé and other Huguenot family links.
A Marie Dusautouer (du Sautoy/du Sautoir) married Jean La Fon, of Bethnal Green (chr. 1 Feb. 1711, Leiden, Netherlands) on 13 Apr. 1743 at Threadneedle Street, Spitalifields and Marie is the daughter of Jaques de Sautoir, of Paris and Elizabet Cressé, of Paris (daughter of Daniel Cressé and Marie Lucas, my 8th Great Grandparents).
Found could well be an anglicised version of Lafon/La Fon.
