Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Lancs OPC Suspended???
« on: Monday 17 August 09 14:33 BST (UK)  »
I have found it works both via Google search & directly pasting into browser however the cache seems to be from late 2007 so last 2 years updates are not available (nor are many of the added parishes).

Guess we will have to wait for the 'hosting' issue to be addressed.

Really miss the excellent search facility as it saves so much time, as for somewhere like Liverpool, there are too many parishes to trawl individually.
When it's working I'm finding a great deal of information which is not available without resorting to microfilm in local records office.
Hope they get the issues sorted as they have done such a great job so far

Site is suspended again. You don't realise how much you value a site such as Lan-Opc until this happens!

Aware of the following documents
1846 Survey of Households in connection with famine relief. Loughill, Foynes, Shanagolden areas. NLI Ms. 582
1848-1851? Undated lists of paupers in the Loughill E. Division showing families and individual's names, ... NLI Ms. 13413

Does anyone know of online versions? Difficult to get to NLI!

Looking for info. on Michael O'Connor b c 1814 Mount Trenchard Became excise man 1837 moved to Cheshire with wife Honoriah Higgins. Missing in UK records mid 1840's to 1853 (moved to Liverpool)
Want to check whether he was in his birth area at this time(possibly on Griffiths in Glin?) Anyone help?
