How interesting for you.
Thanks for looking for my 2, but they weren't working there in 1890 so they wouldn't have been in the book.
Good luck with your research.

I have just found 2 of my cousins, Annie Godsmark Heath (1861-1939) and her sister Sarah Gould Heath (1863-1936) who I believe were working for Frederick Gorringe.

They were both Drapers Assistants, and Annie was living at 51-59 Buckingham Palace Road at the 1881 census.

They also both ended up living together at 57 Drapers Cottage Homes, Hammers Lane, Hendon until their deaths.  These are now run by the Retail Trust, but the homes were built to assist retired people from the Drapery trade with a minimum of 15 years service.

Would be interested to know if both their names were in your book.
Thanks

I'm sure you have had a reply by now.  But my grandfather was born at 44 Graylands Road, Peckham in 1888.

The address doesn't exist now unfortunately.

All the best

Hi Dean
Delighted to meet an Ellis cousin.  I'd love to find out how we link.  Can I suggest you send me a post on Ancestry and then I can give you my email and we can find out how we relate - and I can then give you access to my extensive tree (called Hellewell Tree (Part)  ).

Staffordshire / Re: Re: Staffordshire Colliery Deaths

I want to thank everyone for all the great information about Colliery Deaths in Staffordshire.  I have just found out that 4 members of my family were killed in the Minnie Pit disaster in January 1918 - I'm sure that other families has similar, if not worse, tradegys in their families - but it makes you realise how hard lives were in these coalmining areas.

Thanks again.

Hi Paul
Thanks for the link.  Really interesting.  I suppose my Dad and your grandfather must have been in the same unit - they probably even knew one another.  My Dad was hit by shrapnel (which killed the guy next to him, so he was very lucky) on the 17 June and was sent back to England.

When I went to Kew I looked at the War Diaries for the 172nd. I have got the field returns for May, June, July Aug & Sept 1944 and the war diaries from Jan to Sept 1944. If you would like to see them then contact me off-line.

Regards

Hi
Does anyone have access to the News Gazette, Roberts, Illinois for the 11 Oct 2002.

I am looking for the Obituary of Richard Dean Bishop (born 4 Apr 1944) & died 9 Oct 2002 in Roberts, Illinois.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you so much, and so quick, much appreciated as I can now confirm the information I have.  Could I ask you one more question please.  Did the obituary list the details as you sent them or have you put the details in that format sent?  Most of the obituaries I have seen are in the form of text rather than as you have shown them, so I just wondered.

Thanks again.
Val
