Thats excellent work on your part. At least she is not just waiting to be discovered!  I will have some more stuff from India via the LDS in a week or so.

Regards,

Clare

I think (*) is living in Melbourne now. I have some additions and corrections for you on the group we are looking at. Here to begin with is the updated info on Lydia Frazer Bellgard.

Kathleen Lydia Bellgard died 11 February 1939 Calcutta, India. The cause of death was heart failure coupled with pleuro-pnemonia. She was buried the same day from St Thomas' Church, Calcutta. The Curate, Rev. Errol M Kouwen, read the service. Her age was given as 50 years, six months and 20 days. [Source: India Office Collection, British Library, Vol 594, folio 140; LDS Film 533200].

Yes I was aware of the Pocock painting. This was the home of Thomas Wilson [where the town hall is now].  The William Innes Pocock's had money. In fact the poor Pocock's of Bristol ended up producing WG Grace!

Do you know if there was a local paper in the 1810s? Maybe I just need to read the local news to see if I can turn Wilson up.

Old Squire Wilson died in 1829 at Ives Place. This Thomas Wilson is connected via his daughter to the Pococks.  I would like to find his parents. As I am pretty new to Berkshire research I would appreciate any hints.  I have his will so know his family but would like to find his forbears.  Any help appreciated.
