Sorry should have shared that the census is head of families, # of males and females and religion.
There was lots of immigration during the 1860's because although the famine did not hit Maghera as hard as some areas of Ireland, it was affected. The 1860's provided a few years of better crops, some of the linen factories went under in the 1860's so less work and less sales in flax.  Someone correct me if I am wrong but since the land reforms was this not the time when leases ran out that tenants were being asked to buy their land?

Termoneeny is available for the census of 1831.
The Public Records Office in Belfast have it in the microfilm search room.

This may or may not be relevant.
Are you sure that he was born at Magherafelt?
There are Clark's at Maghera in fact they still have the Clark and Son's Linens.

I think that John McElree/McIlree buried at ST. Lurach's born 1778?  may have a son buried with him whose name was Matthew.  Sometimes with the naming patterns they were named after uncles depending upon the birth order?

Sorry should have said St. Lurach's Maghera, Co. Derry.
Both John and Henry are listed on the 1831 census as farming in Mullagh townland just south east of Maghera, near the friary.
It might be helpful to know that Henry is listed on the burial record as being from Tullyheron, to the west of Maghera.

My James McElree traces back to Henry McElree buried at St. Lurach's #140 born 1788.
Now the challenge to find who Henry was married too and the rest of their children.
John McElree and his family is buried at St. Lurach's as well with in the same date range so it is possible that they were brothers?
