Surrey Completed Look up Requests / Re: Bloomfield/Streeter marriage

Hi Jane,
That's wonderfull. Until now I didn't have a name to look for Charity and stilll don't for Mary didn't see either in the 1911 census. Not knowing who they married and where they went. I never would have thought to look in London for her.
Being from Newfoundland I'm not sure of the distances between places.
Thank you
Jeff

Hi Jane,
Charity Streeter was born in 1894 to Alfred Streeter and Rhoda (Upton) in Rotherfield, Sussex so her birth would have been registered in Uckfield. So dates match.
No luck with her and her sister Mary Rhoda but I did find their brother their mother died and Alfred remarried Rosa Wickens. The family is in the 1901 census but my great grandfather isn't with them as he was already in the Navy.

Hi Bernie,
Had a computer crash and have been away from research for a while.
If this is a confirmed connection to England then your Keats' and Fogo are related to mine in Bonavista.

Hi,
Just wondering if you have found out if Charity Streeter was from Rotherfield?
I have been looking for her for years. Her brother my great grandfather came to Newfoundland and tracing his sisters has been a challenge. The dates match up very well that it could be her.

Good God,
Thank you very much GeoffE. So much to go on.
This is definately his family from what little we know of him. The fact his father was a Mariner and he a barman.
Thomas ended up meeting my relative, because they both worked for the White Star Line. Thomas was a Chief Stewart. Eliza Mitchell was a Matron

can't find a marriage for them. I wonder if they were married onboard the ship they worked by the Captain? They married around 1897.

Thank you again.

Hi Andrea,
Thank you very much. Yes, that's him, but not sure which would be his wife. i assume she died. They had two daughters in Liverpool, Margaret and Muriel, then he ends up in Philadelphia with my relative Eliza Mitchell.
Their daughters had all the names mentioned in both of these possible wives so I'm not sure who it would have been.

I live in Newfoundland Canada. Could you tell me how to go about getting the marriage, births and possible death records?

Thank you again for replying.

Hello,
Does anyone have a interest in the Maney family?
I have a Thomas Harrison Maney born abt 1866. He ended up in Philadelphia, but was a Cheif Stewart on the White Star Line.
He married a relative of mine from Newfoundland.

Thank you.

Devon / MITCHELL of Plymouth
« on: Wednesday 29 October 08 23:08 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
Is anyone researching the Mitchell family of Plymouth?
I believe my first Canadian generation of Mitchell' are John born abt 1795 at Plymouth, who married Susan Fragwell also of Plymouth at Harbour Grace Newfoundland in 1825.

Thank you.
Jeff
