Further  information
It is possible that his middle name was Thomas.
so I'm looking for  an Arthur Thomas Howard  from Manchester who was in the Holywell area of Flintshire in the 1930's.
I know its a very long shot.

Just a quick update
I have today received the birth certificate for the 1871 Mary J Furnival
Just goes to show  you cant trust ages on census and marriage certificates,
this has to be the right one

12th January 1871  15 Mary Street , Cheetham, Manchester, Lancaster (!!??)
Mary Jane Furnival
Mother - Grace (nee -Edwards)
Father - John Furnival 'compositor' ( type setter- printer)

I have today just received birth certificate for Jane Anne Wynne  02/12/1883 daughter of David Wynne , Carpenter and  Jane Wynne formerly Hughes - Bryn yr Ogo Llanfair DC, ( Graig Fechan) which realy makes things interesting , if this is the right one  then she was originaly born  a couple of hundred yards from my  Grandfather at TywysogBach , GraigFechan.
Also did she lie about her age when she got married ? - if this is the right birth certificate she would have been two years older than  the Jane Anne Wynne on the Marriage certificate

Flintshire / Re: Royal Oak, Pant Y Gof, Halkyn

Thanks for  the help
Im looking for my wife's grand mother  /great grandparents.
Her grandmother  was a Dora Jones (maiden name)
I have her and her parents  Robert Jones and Anne Jones at Bryn Alun Rhydymwyn in 1901 , Robert at that time is listed as a Lead Miner.
The family story is that Robert and Anne then  had a Pub  near to  and a bit lower than the Blue Bell Pub in Halkyn.
I believe this to be the  Royal Oak ( now a private house called the Old Royal Oak, just across the road from the Blue Bell).
We believe that  Robert died whilst they had the Pub - prior to Dora marrying in 1921, Anne  then remarried and the story is that her new husband did not want to keep the pub.

Story so far - we have  Robert Jones listed as licensee of the Royal Oak , Pant Y Go , Halkyn , in the  Inns register of 1903 but alas have also found his burial in Rhydymwyn in 1904
