The Lighter Side / Bestwick, Nottingham area

I am trying to locate any members of the Bestwick family in order to re-unite the the picture attached with this family.
On the back of this picture is written:- Mr Bestwick, Minerva street, Bulwell.
Bulwell is on the outskirts of Nottingham, England. I have tried to make the link about 12 months ago but with no luck.
Seems a shame if this picture cannot be returned.

All help will be most appreciated

Regards,

James L.

Thanks Bill, Thanks George,

I will download the trial version 7, then over the next few days I will try it out and then I may be more ready to ask sensible questions.

Great site for friendly advice.

Regards,

James

Hi billkent,

Thanks for the reply and offer of help. Do you know of way to try this programme for perhaps 30 days. I have seen offers for trials but typically I cannot locate one at this time in spite of having all sorts of freebee CDs and DVDs acquired over some time.
I feel this programme may suit me as my initial interest is to tidy up old BW family photos.
 Regards, James

I have looked for some way to try Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 to see if is for me but cannot find a link to download this info.
I have no experience of photo restoration so any help will be most appreciated.

Wicklow / Re: Bray, Co. Wicklow - Murphy
« on: Tuesday 07 October 08 22:04 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
Thanks for the info. There is some mystery about the name Hipple or possibly Hipwell.
In our records the name Hipple is used. I wonder if there was a mistake made at the time of writing the original certificate?

This name recently showed up on the web as follows;

The death has occurred of Niney (Nina) HIPPLE of Greystones, Wicklow
At Belmont House Nursing Home, Stillorgan. Reposing at Thomas Murphy and Sons Funeral Home, Boghall Road, Bray. Removal at 9.30 this Saturday morning to St. Killian's Church, Blacklion for 10am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in Radford Cemetery, Greystones.

Date published; Saturday, August 09, 2008
Date of death; Thursday, August 07, 2008

There may be more Hipple's still in the Wicklow area.

Hope this will be of interest.

Regards, Jim

My grandfather lived in Sidmonton Avenue, but I believe he may have also been in Sidmonton Road at some earlier time.
I am not certain about the nickname Jem.
The Doyle family also lived in Sidmonton Avenue.
The name Hipple has been long known to my family.
As a youngster I visited relatives in Albert Walk.

Hello,

I am James, my grandfather was James Murphy and he was on the Bray Council.
My mother was Catherine Murphy.
I have just started research on my family and I believe that the name Hipple is important if I can sort out the connection.
All information will be welcome.

Regards,

Jim
