Caernarvonshire / Re: is llanbeblig parish registers still online please?
« on: Sunday 07 April 19 21:28 BST (UK)  »
This is the response when I contacted Find My Past last year.  I was researching a birth in Llanbeblig, which showed up in a search on Familysearch.  I was in Salt Lake City, and tried to access the record there.  I was unable to and contacted them.

"Thank you for your reply.

Having checked the record in question, it appears that it has been removed from the site but the Family Search website has not yet been updated to reflect this.

A number of parishes decided they did not want to participate in the digitisation project and therefore their records do no longer form part of the Wales Collection. The parish of Llanbeblig was once which is no longer available.

If you do have any questions please let us know."

Soon after I received this, the record I was able to find at familysearch was removed.

Denbighshire / Tre Gwydyr in 1780 - Denbighshire?
« on: Saturday 29 August 09 07:34 BST (UK)  »
Hello. I hope I have the correct board for this query.

I am searching for a marriage of a William Morris or Moris or Maurice and Alice.  I would expect the marriage was about 1798 or so, as their first son Morris was born about 1799 - 1801.

In the 1851 census, Alice said she was born in Tre Gwydyr.

Would Denbighshire be the correct location to search for this marriage?

Thank you.

Dear Mr. Lloyd - would there be a transcript of the burials at St. Julittas that is for sale?  I have found so many ancestors that would have been buried there that it would be great if a listing exists.  Thanks

Thank you to all of you for your amazing help.  I have found both houses and have also found a great map website called multimap.com which shows the area in pretty good detail.

Again, you are all wonderful and if you ever need anything looked-up in California (ha) don't hesitate to ask!

Caernarvonshire Lookup Requests / Re: William & Alice MORRIS/Morice of Trefriw, 1841

Haydn - thanks again - I suppose the only other folks I would be looking for in this area would be the children of William Morris and Alice.  I know of only one son; their son Morris Williams married Catherine Evans at Llanrhychwyn May 12, 1826.  Would there be any other information in the marriage record other than the date?  Or, a way to find other siblings?

On another note, Francine has been so kind trying to find the house Cynllwyd - I've found a reference to a B&B that is called Cynllwyd Mawr that is on the shore of Llyn Crafnant.  Could this possibly be the same house?  I've tried to look at the maps and I know it is in the general area, but can't tell if it is in the right spot.

Thanks again!

brawd houdini - thank you and yes, this helps me greatly.  I have a question for you - on Margaret's death record in 1833 it states she was from Pen y gwaith.  I was assuming that it  meant that was the last place she lived.  Could it mean that it was where she was born?

I thank you again and everyone else for the help!!

Caernarvonshire Lookup Requests / Chapel Ardda
« on: Wednesday 01 October 08 23:02 BST (UK)  »
Hello.  I am looking for information re William Morris/Maurice/Morice of Trefriw and his spouse Alice.  William was born abt. 1771 and Alice abt. 1776.  I would expect they were married abt. 1790 or so or later as their son Morris, who I assume was their first born due to naming patterns, was born abt. 1799 or 1800.  Haven't found his birth record yet.  Would there be any information available as to their marriage?  Is there a cemetery there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
