Hi Great Gran - pleased to hear from you!  Margaret Horrigan (or all the other variants!) was  my great great grandmother on my Mum's side!  I unfortunately have very little information on them, hence my message on Rootschat! Their daughter, Eliza Keho was my Grandad's mother - he was William James Bedford. hence my Mum was Margaret Bedford before marriage.  Would love to hear from you again if you have any more information at all - now need to work out how we're related! Regards Eileen aka Anderton.  I think we're second cousins once removed but I could be wrong!

Brendan you're a star!  This is the same Leahy family.  Do you have any more info on Thomas's grandparents please, or can you let me know where I can look it all up?  Thank you so much for replying, Regards, Eileen

Hi Joyful, thanks so much for your help so far - you've been great.  As to the questions, it looks as if Jeffery dunning, who was a Master Mariner, may have been out of the country at this time.  I don't think Eliza had been married before.  Eliza's parents were Mary Ann nee Street and Draper Windsor, a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.  Does this help Joyful? I hope so, any info you can find would be great thanks anderton

Ireland / Leahy Family Fethard Tipperary
« on: Sunday 29 March 09 16:20 BST (UK)  »
Please can anyone help me re the Leahy family of Fethard, Tipperary.  My great grandfather was Thomas leahy, born 1872, in Fethard.  He married a Margaret Ryan, again in Fethard.  They had ten children, the eldest of which was my maternal grandmother Catherine (Katie) Leahy.  The family lived in Chapel Lane Fethard for many years - to my knowledge the house is still there.  Catherine married a british soldier, William Bedford, again in Fethard in 1916. If anyone could help I'd be very grateful, thanks, Anderton
