Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Dukinfield Funeral - James Ashworth
« on: Wednesday 30 January 13 12:40 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Heather,

My Grandparents were married in Dartford in Kent and my mum and sister were both born there and moved back up north shortly after but before James was born in September 1941. They lived in Jermyn Street in Ashton-Under-Lyne and this was where James died in November 1941. My mum married in 1957 at Albion Church in Ashton-Under-Lyne. I am not sure where Jermyn Street was in Ashton but from what I have found I think it was somewhere near the bus station. My Mums youngest brother died in Dec 1967 and my grandad died in the Feb of 1968 both of them cremated at Dukinfield. I will have to go through my file as I have a newspaper cutting for both of them, and I seem to remember there was a different address in 1967/68.

Regards
Andrew

Heather Thanks for checking,

The family were CofE, I don't know of a particular church I do know that when James's dad and brother died around 1968 they were both cremated in Dukinfield. The Family lived in Ashton and James died at home, my mum died last year and she couldn't remember what happened to his body and my Auntie was too young to remember.

Thanks again for your help

My grandad is listed on a death certificate of his son with an ACI No and it says he was a RAF Coach. Does anyone know what the number is?

My mums brother James Ashworth died only 2 months old on the 26 November 1941. I think his funeral would have been at Dukinfield Cemetery is there anyway to check this as it doesn't come up on their site but it looks like their online records don't go that far back?. As I don't live in the area could anyone check if they are going?

I have searched the Scottish Records and even experts have failed to find her birth in Scotland.
I know she gave birth to her Daughter in the Belfast Workhouse and the only other info I have is off her Marriage certificate. If you follow this feed you will see her fathers details from the marriage certificate.

Hi,

I have been looking for a record of my great grandmothers birth certificate for a long time now with little success. All the info I have say she was born in Scotland but I have never located the info. I have decided to try Northern Ireland for it as I know she had a child there in 1890 and she was married there to my great grandfather most of the details can be found in the posts attached. How do I go about tracing births in Northern Ireland? It's been sometime since I was last tracing births there.

Hi Again

After a bit of searching I found a marriage for Agnes Mcdonald to an Alexander Cockburn in the June of 1874. So would guess that this was the father so as yet no connection between the two.

Forfarian

Not sure if I understand all that there is a lot of info. However the 1911 census was fillied in by Minnie and was signed by her. So either she lied about where she came from, she did come from or she believed thats where she came from.
