Northumberland Lookup Requests / 1841 Census - TRAINER family
« on: Wednesday 02 March 05 12:49 GMT (UK)  »
Hoping to locate in 1841 census:- TRAINER, Francis, a hawker, born Ireland c 1811, and his wife Elizabeth, b Northumberland c 1813.  Believed to have married in Alnwick in 1831, would love to confirm details of church etc?  Children included John b 1838 and Francis b 1841.  Sarah born 1844 was my gt grandmother.  Strangely, Sarah was not at home with her parents at St Nicholas Square, N on T, in 1851.  Could she be found too please? Thanks in advance              lorisg

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / 1841 census - Hopkins family

Can any one help me please with 1841 location of HOPKINS, John, born c1790 in Swansea, Glamorganshire.  In 1851 he was a silversmith at Upper Hospital Street Birmingham, living with his wife Catherine then 61y born Birmingham.  Their children are believed to include John Owen, born 1808, Elizabeth, born 1814, Fanny born 1832 and Ellen born 1835. The address in 1814 was Livery St Birmingham. Elizabeth married Charles BROWN, [a shoemaker born Abingdon, 1816] in 1838 at Edgbaston.  It would be great to find John and Eliz in 1841, too. Many thanks                 lorisg

Thanks very much Kated,
I notice you also have Driscoll interests. I guess if there were any bells ringing there you would have told me.  How can I access parish records of Castletownsend etc?  I have only the marriage record of Wm Hosford and Kate Wheland and the birth cert of their first daughter.   Loris

One Name Studies: A to G / Re: ASHWELL family

Thanks ticker,

No, it's not a one-name study, sorry for the confusion. SMITH is my main interest in Warwickshire, but I'm ever hopeful of finding an appropriate ASHWELL descendant.           ..Loris

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Northumberland census request

My gt grandmother was Sarah Trainer, born 3 Mar 1844, Newcastle on Tyne.  I have found her parents in the 1851 census Newcastle on Tyne: -  Francis TRAINER, hawker, born Ireland c 1811 and his wife Elizabeth (ELTIS), b c 1813 Northumberland [only!].  Sarah then aged about 6 years was not with them.  She was said to have had brothers John b 1838; Francis b 1841; and Patrick b 1846.  Can anyone help me please to find the family in 1841 and the children in 1851?  Thanks in advance....   Loris

Cork / Whelan=Hosford at Castletownsend
« on: Sunday 28 November 04 00:35 GMT (UK)  »
My Gt grandparents were Kate Whelan and Wm Hosford who were married at Castletownsend in 1868. Kate's parents were Jeremiah Whelan and Mary O'Driscoll.  William's parents were John Hosford and Kate O'Neil.  Would love to contact other researchers /descendants ? of these names in this area.  William gave his birth place variously as Durrus, Bandon, Cork? when he registered his own children's births in Australia.  Any help appreciated.
