We seem to have the same names in our trees although some of the data is conflicting. Can you check the dates of birth etc for John McPhee and Elizabeth Montgomery as their offspring Arthur and Robert were born in 1820 and 1828 as far as I can see. Also can you let me know where you got the details of the marriage which seems to have taken place in Australia.Do you have anything before John and Elizabeth. My grandmother was one of the 9 children to Robert Mcphee and Marion Porteous (Elizabeth)
ps I am also a buddy

buddy7165 I have details of an Arthur McPhee , son of John McPhee and Elizabeth Montgomery , born in Co Antrim in 1820. He was married to Sophia Love and they had 6 children all girls. He certainly came to Paisley and died there in 1891. Does any of  that tie in with what you have. There is another Arthur McPhee in my tree born in Paisley in 1872 and he was married to Janet Miller.

Hi again Dave

I did sort of recognise your background but thought I better reply in case a new branch of the family had turned up. With our lot anything is possible!
Sorry I don't have any information to help out on the Munro side. I'll keep my eye on any other postings and if I can come up with anything further I'll let you know.

Hi Dave

James McPhee was my grandmother's brother. She was Elizabeth McPhee and married David Gray in 1916. Regards

Hi Hume 24

I have looked at Marion McKinlay's death certificate. The person registering the death was called Thomas Millar who was described as " occupier " I think that relates to her last known address at High Street as I believe the place of death which  shown as 133 Balornock Road is now Stobhill Hospital.

Hi Hume 24

Your info was spot on. Thanks. I have now obtained a copy of the testament document which reveals the date of death as 11 October 1851. It also shows James lived at Grassmarket and the business premises were next door and rented to William Duncan. As the marriage was so soon after the death I cant help but wonder if there is anything significant in my g grandfather , born in 1848 , being called Duncan ( McCormack ). All SP documents record James as his father.
Also there was a daughter Ann who died in 1855 and was buried at Greyfriars. Is it possible James is in the same lair.

Hi Cammy

I've checked out Scotlands People again and all the entries on the alternative spelling have no image to view. Looks like a visit to Park Circus will be necessary. Thanks again for your help.
