Berkshire / House plan 1878
« on: Wednesday 05 March 25 18:22 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
I'm trying to find out who the builders were that built the house I live in. I have the deeds and know the land was leased from Ernest Gardner in 1878. The name of the person who wanted it built was Levi Lake  and the address was Furze Cottage, Furze Platt.
I have contacted the local history centre and the Berkshire Record Office but they don't have any information.

I assume you mean the Thomas Heath living at Bourne End in 1851 who was age 27 born Cookham
HO107 Piece 1719 f51 p8

Mary Heath is listed as married age 55 occ Nurse born Marlow

In 1861 there is a Mary Heath bn Wooburn living in Wooburn Green with husband James Heath age 70 occ Baker bn Cookham. RG9/857 f60 p20

ADDED They are in Wooburn in 1841 with a son Thomas age 10

What information did Thomas's marriage give for James occupation

I don't know as I only have the information that Ancestry give.  I will order the marriage certificate and that will hopefully say that his father was a baker!

Yes, that's who I was referring to in a previous post.  Wooburn isn't far from Cookham.  Thank you

Thank you for all the replies.

I don't think it's the Farringdon family.  Thomas was baptised in Cookham and lived his life in Burchetts Green and surrounding area as stated in the census details. The census also shows his birth as Cookham.  I was having trouble finding another James and Mary and not from Farringdon.

I have found a Thomas Heath as a servant in 1851 not far from Cookham but the age is different - hard to see on the census and Mary Heath is there too as a nurse. I was thinking that could be the right Thomas but no James.  I have also seen a prison record for a James Heath so maybe that's him!!

Heath/Rixon marriage was 1857 not 1847

1861 shows his birthyear as 1833 & 1871/1881 as 1830

Where did you get his mothers name from?  Was it a baptismal record?
[
Yes that was a typo with the year of marriage.  I found the baptism record and noted that the mothers  name was Mary

Berkshire / James Heath and wife Mary

Hi
I would like some help in locating James Heath and his wife Mary.

Thomas their son was born in Cookham, Berkshire in 1828.  Thomas married Sarah Rixon in 1847 in Bisham.

The only James Heath that I can find was born in Farringdon and his son Thomas was born in Farringdon too.

Thanks for any help.

Nottinghamshire / Re: Ronald Lee

After studying this family I wondered why he would have died in Leicestershire when family seemed to remain in Mansfield? (Plus there are 2 deaths in 2014 Leicestershire - one bc.1929 and one bc.1934 - both of which are too young!)

Ronald's wife Amy Yates is said to have been born 22/8/1927 and died May 1991 Mansfield (tree on Ancestry).

Don't believe that Ronald himself is shown on 1939 - and probably a redacted entry.   Index shows an entry for his father Albert E., plus some of his known siblings - no Lily shown with the family but she was possibly the one shown as a 'patient' elsewhere.

I agree that his parents were Albert Edward Lee and Lily Marriott who married 1919 Mansfield.

Albert died Mar.qtr.1942 Mansfield.   At this point, not sure when Lily died.

Ronald Lee's birth entry was in Mar.qtr.1925 so could be a late 1924 birth or early 1925.   Think that  he's the Ronald Lee b.28/12/1924, who died July 2004 Mansfield (and not in 2014).

To proceed with certainty I think you need to get the birth certificate of Robert Lee Mar.qtr.1925 Mansfield, mmn Marriott, to confirm his birthdate and thus identify the correct death entry.

Annette

Thank you Annette for this. It certainly makes sense.  I think you mean Ronald Lee and not Robert. I'll speak to his granddaughter again and see what she says regarding the death dates!  I'll order a birth certificate.

Albert Lee and Lily Marriott marry in Mansfield Sep 1919 and they appear to have a son Ronald born 1925.

Just thinking of the Lily and Lillian names but you said mother was Annie so this may be wrong family  :-\

Thanks. This looks promising.  I don't know if his mother was Annie - I was just going by the names in the 1939 register that I found. Lily could be his mother on the certificate as a witness.
