Hi, think I found this site through Rootschat, I used it for Rothwells Parish Registers but has lots of other scanned Yorkshire Parish Registers for free download. I think Rothwells were volume number 34 when I downloaded them last year.

Hope it helps,

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Re: Which Hospital? - Leeds 1917
« on: Tuesday 28 April 09 21:49 BST (UK)  »
It would quite likely have been the East Leeds War Hospital (now called St James University Hospital) unless he needed specialist care, this site has a good list
http://www.1914-1918.net/hospitals_uk.htm
all the leeds hospitals are now part of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, you could try contacting them, though older records, if they still exist, are probably in the west yorkshire archives now. Hope that helps,
Acorna.

just a suggestion, but many funerals from Wrose and Idle take place at Rawdon crematorium which is also very close, but comes under Leeds. might be worth looking into if no luck with Nab Wood.

apologies if this has been covered but I can't work it out and don't want to waste credits trying, if I buy a transcript for 10 credits and decide to then buy the original page, is it still another 30 full credits, or just 20 to 'upgrade'?? Thanks.

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Re: Lawnswood Crematorium look up
« on: Saturday 04 October 08 10:00 BST (UK)  »
Hi, if you mean Lawnswood in Leeds, the crematorium only opened in 1905 so unlikely that they would have been cremated, though I think the burial ground there opened much earlier. If you're sure they were cremated/buried in Leeds, the council should be able to tell you where they are?
www.leeds.gov.uk has useful info on its crematoria and cemeteries.

The Lighter Side / Re: Ancestry fee increase
« on: Thursday 25 September 08 09:17 BST (UK)  »

When I received the notification,I found that I was being blocked and asked to upgrade for some of the data bases, such as parish records, etc. ,Which I ignored.

I have just trawled through many of the data bases and again have access to all that I had before!

haven't been on ancestry this week, just tried and found the same, it's stopped trying to make me upgrade every time and I seem to have full access again, hurray!
