Hello everyone who has been 'threading'

I have only just seen these threads so it is very interesting to read them all.  I haven't done research on this branch of the family for some time.  Without going into my paper trail at the moment I am pretty sure I got Rebekah's birth/baptism entry from ScotlandsPeople. I will have to go back and see if I can find it. Today I google info for The Lady Kennaway into Sydney 1838 and found IFHAA Shipping Pages which detailed the passengers, their ages, religion, read/write, native place and trade.  The Robinsons are there. As I said in a very early thread they were actually Robertson but clerically mispelt! as it is them.  I note there is another family also those of Robert Robinson and possibly another that of John Robinson. I haven't look closely into that yet but they all came from Dundee. The IFHAA Shipping Pages site also has the typed out version of the hand notes written by the Captain about the voyage. It is quite interesting to read and also there is a list of births on the voyage and I note there is a girl born to Mrs Robert Robertson and a girl born to Mrs James Robertson and also a girl to Mrs John Robertson. No deaths listed under their name. I have had suggestions on Ancestry for parents of Rebekah Buttars but without evidence I don't want to use them.  If anyone has other information I'd love to hear.  While in Scotland we did not get to find any graves or visit the related churches. LEANNE JANETTE...your Janet Robertson is the daughter of ANGUS ROBERTSON b1809 and married GEORGINA MCPHERSON.  Angus was Anne's brother.
rachaelandtheboo ...it would be interesting to know if you have managed to locate Rebekah's final resting place? Macpherson ...I was interested to read your thread abt the house and other info. I'd be interested to hear more if you find things out.  Yes, Catherine had 2 children Isabella Rutherford b 1836 and Daniel b 1839 both born in Scotland. Daniel married a Mary Upton and Isabella married a William Brown. Isabella had a large family, not sure about Daniel but I know he did have one daughter and Daniel married a couple of times. I just want to know if there is someone who can be recommended who does research and is prepared to find some death certificates or copies of them for me from a registry and I will pay for them, or provide me with contact details of who to contact at the registries with my requests. I will endeavour to supply as much information as I can. Look forward to hearing from someone.

Thank you for replying to my post.  I am Pamela Johnson and I am the GGGranddaughter of JOHN PEPPER born in Hyson Green Nottingham in 1824. He was married to MARY HUNT and had a child JOHN PEPPER but my GGGF travelled to Australia and met RACHEL ALDOUS on board ship and they later married which meant he was a bigamist by the looks of things as he abandoned his wife Mary and son back in England. My family line stems from that marriage of John and Rachel here in Australia.
His father JOHN PEPPER (GGGGF)was born in Gotham in 1790 and died in 1876 in Nottingham and is buried at St Nicholas Church Hyson Green. Apparently, he owned the Cricketer Players House in Radford.  His occupations on census forms indicate he was a Publican, a Farmer, a Gardener and a Sexton...an interesting array of occupations. He married Elizabeth DAVEY.
So, it will be interesting to see how we are related however I am ecstatic to find someone that is related to my Pepper line.  Would you be interested in corresponding with me with regards to our PEPPER family and swap research information.  I was in England in Aug/Sept 2013 and specifically made the drive through Nottinghamshire with the hope of finding some Pepper information. I was only there for a day so I was limited.  I did find Gotham and it's church and graveyards.  I did find Pepper graves and I took photos of them. I also found another little village near Gotham where there are Pepper graves also, but these are of more recent times so I assumed there were still Peppers living in the area. I took photos of those graves but am not sure who these Peppers are, perhaps you would know or your family would know.  I stumbled across them quite by accident as my husband and I were 'lost' on the highway and took a turn to get off and just drove straight into this little corner of a village with an old church.  The people in the neighbouring house were very nice and helpful and told us there were Peppers buried in the church across from them.  After that we drove to Gotham following their directions.  It was quite a moving time for me and I would have liked to have stayed longer but maybe I'll get another chance again.  Has your research unearthed any old photos of relatives, I would love to see them as that then puts a face to a name. I would be happy to invite you to my Ancestry tree so that you can see my family line yourself.  My email address is reachbell@optusnet.com.au if you would like to correspond. From there I could invite you to my tree via your email or you could ask to be invited if you wish via Ancestry...my family tree is called LAMBKIN JOHNSON EVERSPREADING BRANCHES and I had it private until recently so perhaps you can find it yourself.

Thank you for responding to my post. I realise that Nantwich and Middlewich are different now. The burial you mention at St Chad's Wybunbury would be the correct one of Edward Jones born 1795. He did die in November 1827 and was 32 and he was a Stationer/booksller and lived in Nantwich.  I'm kicking myself because as I mentioned in an earlier post I had been to St Chad's end of last year but had no idea Edward was buried there. I found the Will for Edward some time ago and it is the same Edward Jones.  I found newspaper articles in British Newspapers where Edward bought his stationery shop and then a few years later how the business was doing well etc.  I looked to see if I could find anything mentioned about his burial or death but I could find nothing.  Now my next very big question...does anyone know anyone who lives in Wybunbury or nearby who wouldn't mind in their spare time to go to St Chad's and do a walk around and find Edwards Jones' grave and take photos for me? I could provide my mobile number which the photos could be sent to as a message with attachments or some other details...what is the go with that sort of stuff on here???  In return I would be more than happy to do some research for someone with relatives over here in Australia???? I'll wait to hear someone...please :)  The other thing is when we visited Wybunbury we found a place called Shavington Hall which is on Weston Lane and we are almost 100% sure that is the original ancestral home of my husband's family line of Turner.  I was wondering if there were any old photos in the town library of the house that was the original Shavington Hall on that site....not the Shavington Hall in Shavington Park Market Drayton. We visited that one and I am pretty sure that's not the one. I have found census that actually have the Turner family living in Shavington Hall on Weston Lane. I'd dearly love any pics of that or if anyone could get a phot of the current house/property with permission from the owners of course.  It would mean a lot for the family tree I have worked on for my husband for the past 3 yrs now. As for Mary, Edward's wife, I will look into the Middlewich side of things and see if I can find where she is buried.  She never married after he died, well she had no option really. His Will stipulated that for her to get moneys from his estate she was to remain unmarried and raise their child which she faithfully did.  I would like to know what he died from as everything seemed to be going along smoothly in his life, business wise and all then he suddenly marries Mary in June, does a weird Will in Oct that year requesting she remain unmarried and raise their child which she had not given birth to yet and not until after he died, and then he dies in Nov that year. I am thinking he contracted some terminal illness. Any idea how or where I would find this out???  Ok so many questions and wants, sorry about all that....someone out there if you can help me that would be great.  Wait to hear back.  Cheers Pamela

I am looking for any information really on the DAWSON family of Rathoe County Carlow. I visited Ireland last year and amazingly found family graves of my GGrandfather's brother and family at St Patricks Church graveyard at Rathoe County Carlow. I spoke to the post lady at the post office on the day and she said there was a JOHN DAWSON Auctioneer at Tullow that was related to those graves. If anyone knows of this person or family I would love to make contact please. The grave at St Patricks contains my GGrand Uncle Daniel Dawson and his brother James (or William) Dawson came to Australia with his sister Julia (Judith) and emmigrated.  I would really like to hear from anyone knowing anything of this family.. James Dawson's parents were Margaret Hines (Hynes) and John Dawson, their children were Bridget, Bernard, Daniel, James (William), Mary, Thomas and Julia (Judith).  The headstone for Daniel Dawson at St Patricks mentions his wife Annie Dawson nee Watchorn, Margaret Bridget Fitzgerald (nee Dawson) who married John Joseph Fitzgerald, their son James Jospeh Fitzgerald and a daughter named Elizabeth but not sure whose daughter she was. There is also a monument for a Seamus Fitzgerald who I have no idea who that is and also a Sir Charles Alfred Langdale who I am unsure of also...any help with this would be enormously appreciated.

Thanks eeyore42 for contacting me. I am very interested in keeping contact re the Robertson family.  Yes I have a William b 1823 and also a Rober b 1821 in my tree. Rebekah is my 3g grandmother on the Robertson side.  I would be interested to know which one of her children you are descended from please? From my research she had 13 children. During my trip to UK/Scotland in Aug/Sept 2013 I was not able to look for my Robertson connections, time was too short. What else can you tell me?  I have a tree on ancestry, are we able to provide each other with email addresses on here????

I dont actually know where they died only that Mary Jones (also known Turner-Jones as she was a Turner and her husband Jones) died at Nantwich Middlewich.  Edward her husband Jones died long before her quite young in 1827 at Nantwich also. I found neither grave at St Marys in Nantwich but accepted the story about graves dug up for the new floor of the church to go down and the grassing of the grave area out front, thinking that they were amongs the remains that were encrypted under the church floors, but I don't know this for certain.  I just want to know where they are buried.
