Antrim / Re: Lookup: ARMOY CHURCHYARD - D'EVELYN
« on: Sunday 14 December 08 13:38 GMT (UK)  »
Thank you very much, Aghadowey and Kingskerswell.  With your help today and with my postings earlier there was  information I did not have, which is much appreciated.

I originally wrote because 'Kaz' was offering lookups at Armoy graveyard however he/she did not appear to be reading the lists at the time.

I thought I would try again for the gravestone inscription as I do not have all the relevant dates for his children or his wife, so if you do get over there some time Aghadowey, that would be great.

Antrim / Lookup: ARMOY CHURCHYARD - D'EVELYN
« on: Sunday 14 December 08 01:03 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there

Is there anyone living near Armoy who could look up a gravestone for 'D'EVELYN'  which should be easy to find (hopefully).  I have heard there is at least one there but it is hard to get info from the other side of the world.

John William D'EVELYN was Rector of Armoy (C of I St Patrick's?) from about 1850 to 1894 when he died there.  He had a wife and several children some of whom were buried there also.

Any information you can find from the gravestone would be very much appreciated.

Thank you
Sandie

Mary and Aghadowey

Thanks so much for your very helpful information.  You have filled in some gaps for me.  Fancy a clergyman having so much money!  (One of his sons came to Qld and ran a sheep station out west!)

Hi Kaz

When you have the time would you please look at the C of I Churchyard (I think it's St Patrick's) at Armoy for D'EVELYN gravestones.  (I have heard there is at least one there but it is hard to get info from the other side of the world.)

John William D'EVELYN was Rector of Armoy from about 1850 to 1894 when he died.  He had a wife and several children some of whom were buried there also, however I have no information about them.

Any information you can find from the gravestone would be very much appreciated.

Thank you
Sandie

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Re: Nottingham St Mary: CALLADINE
« on: Thursday 09 October 08 00:58 BST (UK)  »
Thanks very much for your replies, Suz and Carol.  I believe those are his family.  My problem now is that I need to prove that this marriage is this John Barker Calladine and not another.

I cannot find anything about this couple after the marriage date in the censuses, GRO etc.  They seem to have disappeared or emigrated.  I know nothing about Mary WILLIAMSON or when/where she was born.

I'm still hoping someone has access to the actual Marriage Registers for St Mary's.  (The LDS Church does not appear to have filmed this church.)

Regards
Sandie

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Nottingham St Mary: CALLADINE

Does anyone have access to Nottingham St Mary Marriage Registers, please?

I have found a marriage for John Barker CALLADINE to Mary WILLIAMSON on 16 January 1867.

Those are all the facts I have so I would like to know the fathers' and witnesses' names and any other information which is in the register, if available, please.

Thank you, SandieY
