Hi Neilke

Thanks for the info re street names & JH's daughters - I'll check that out.

I have quite a bit of info on the Sunderland Hartleys & the Wear Glassworks (and Hartley Wood) if anyone else is looking.

However, I have pretty much nothing on the Dumbarton end of the family so if anyone reads this and can give me any info re their work in the glassworks there or anything else on Hartley's in Dumbarton that would be great.

Thanks

Maggie

Hello all

I'm also searching for glassmakers in Dumbarton in the 18th and early 19th C.  Will get the booklet recommended.

I'm researching the Hartley family who eventually moved to England and were owners/senior managers at various glassworks (Nailsea, Wear Glassworks, Pilkingtons) in the late 19th & 20th c.

If anyone has any further information or advice I'd love to hear it.

Thanks

Maggie

Mike

I think there is a good chance that we are connected as I notice there is a Beard in my tree (level with my grandparents generation) and some other people from Hanley (is this the same place as Hanley Castle?) in that bit of the tree in the 19th C.

I've sent you an email.

I have Scriven's in my tree in Shropshire & Worcestershire.

Shropshire 1724-1774 and Worcestershire 1556-1679

Any likelyhood of a connection?

Bea

Thanks for your message - I can't for the life of me work out how to send you a private message on this site so I've had to resort to posting in the thread again.

The family I am descended from is that of John born in Hollingbourne and Mary A born in Chorlton which is outlined in Chris in 1066 land's post in this thread.  Are they part of your tree?

Maggie

PS - If you reply privately can you please explain how I can get back to you privately.  Thanks

Hi Bea

I know that it's a while since you were active on this thread, but I just stumbled across it.

I too am descended from John Robinson who was married to Mary Annie White.

Would you be interesed in sharing any information we each might have about the family?

I note you are in Australia.  I have an Aunt from this side of the family and numerous cousins etc who live in Australia (mainly in South Australia) and am in touch with someone who lives in Adelaide whose husband is descended from the brother of John Robinson.

Best wishes

Maggie
