Hi My Fair Lady

I've just taken the magnifying glass to my photograph.  Despite the fact that some of the inscription is unclear, I can confirm that the photo does, indeed, include your uncle's grave.  Please contact me so that I can email a copy of the photograph to you.

I hope that you can bear with me until the weekend on this, as I should like to try and enlarge the section containing Dick's memorial so that, hopefully, you will be able to see as much of the inscription as possible.

I would imagine that this photograph belonged to somebody who had a connection with whoever it was that was being buried at the time.  The fact that Dick's memorial is visible in the photograph is purely coincidental - but great news for you and for me.  I now know where the photograph was taken and can date it to some time after 7 February 1930!

As to whether or not your uncle would have received any medals, I really cannot say.  If you can locate a museum for the Royal Artillery, they may be able to help you, or at least point you in the right direction.

I have just acquired from an antiques fair this photograph of a military funeral.  Most of the inscriptions on two of the memorials are just about visible with a magnifying glass.  One of the memorials is to a Richard Yould.

Could you please let me know your Dick Yould's serial number, rank and regiment?  If it's a match, I'll happily let you have a high definition copy of my photograph.
