Hi
I'm researching the Tromans family in Rowley Regis, they appear on the 1851 census, address, 'Village' house no. 88. Head of house Daniel, wife Mary both nailers, 2daughters and a son, The eldest daughter aged 8 is a nurse, also living there are 2 men both aged 22 described as inmates. occupation nailer and labourer.
Can anyone throw any light on this it appears to have been some kind of institution.
Thanks

The Tromans family, Rowley Regis , in the 1861 census Daniel Tromans (1848) was a Gas Hook maker.
Can anyone tell me what this occupation involved.
The rest of the family seem to be Nailers.

Donegal / McConnell in Tulley Begg

Trying to find some info on George McConnell, 1911 census gives his birth place as Tulley Begg, Donegal.
His parents George Tennant McConnell and Jane Buchanan were both born in Scotland but I can't find any record of their marriage so maybe they were living in Ireland at the time, although the 1851 census has them living in Ayrshire.
Any help appreciated.
