The Lighter Side / Re: Who do you think you are live

Had a great time at WDYTYA? Live. It was lovely to visit the Rootschat stand for a chat, and I also met a few of the people I follow on Twitter. This was my first visit, and I'm already saving my pennies for next year!

Hi Sarah,

I've been absent from Rootschat for some time (long and boring story), but I'm now back at the family history research and will be going to WDYTYA? Live for the first time. I've made a note of your stand number, and I'll pop by to say hello.

Same problem here! Could you save it to your computer, Trista, and then attach that file here?

Hi Jo,

It would help if you could tell us the date of the will. That way we'd have more of an idea whether we'd be likely to be able to assist you.

My Dorset ag lab ancestors moved from rural Dorset to Bournemouth between 1861 and 1881, and became brickmakers and builders. Some of them became comparatively wealthy, but I'm not sure where the money went!

Must admit, for a couple of seconds I was wondering what on earth a circular lawyer would do!

 ;D

It couldn't be Circular Sawyer,  could it?

That's what I saw, before reading your post.

My Latin isn't good enough to translate it all, but "uxoris eius" certainly means "his wife", unless I'm gravely mistaken.

Hmm, good question, and one that I can't answer! I'm sure one of our Latin experts will be along later to show us how it's done.
