Hi GeoffE,

Thanks for the reply, the birth index you gave is interesting.

What I have so far is:
Solomon Henry Bell marriage Cert from 23 Oct 1871 aged 35, his father is stated as William Bell, Tailor. He married a girl from Stone Staffordshire Elizabeth Bowers her father was Daniel Bowers, Farmer.

I also have Joseph Bell (my gr, gr, gr, gr grandfather) 1828 - Sep 13 1892.
Joseph Bell marriage Cert from 20 Apr 1856 aged 30, his father is stated as William Bell, Tailor. He married a girl from Stone Staffordshire Myra Bowers her father was Daniel Bowers, Farmer.

In the 1841 Census I THINK Joseph bell is in the House of Correction in Spilsby aged 15 and appears in warwick Jail in the 1851 Census.

going by the Census from Staffordshire these 2 Bells are from lincolnshire, Joseph stating he was from Mablethorpe, Trusthorpe, Lincolnshire and Solomon states he was from Salford, Lincoln.

As Solomon and Joseph don't appear in the Census records with there father William I am finding it hard to track William Bell.

Any idea on other resource that might yield some results for me.

Regards,
Eugene

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Spilsby Workhouse minutes - William Bell

Hi,

I am doing research about a William Bell that was a Tailor from Lincolnshire in the early to mid 19th century. I have come across a extract from the Spilsby Workhouse minutes
"31 October 1839 - BELL William, residing Trusthorpe, belongs to Spilsby Union, tailor, has 5 or 6 children, regarding his circumstances".
The Web site I found this on is: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/Spilsby/spilsby_union_list.txt .
The minutes are held at Linc. Archive, Ref: PL14/102/1.

I only have his name and profession and would like to find out more info about his birth, his wife and children.

I have track 2 of his children Joseph born 1826 and Solomon born abt 1830.

As I don't live in England anymore I was wondering if anyone can find out what is in this entry of the Spilsby Workhouse minutes Ref: PL14/102/1 in the Lincolnshire Archives or if anyone is doing research on Bells from Lincolnshire.

Kind Regards,
Eugene
