Hi guys I have been out of the picture due to illness.
Just wanted to thank you all for posting info very helpful.

The census document with
Donald and Isabella Urquhart. This also has Ann Chisholm. I believe she is their grand daughter. Her parents were John Chisholm and Ann Urquhart.
I will have a bit of info Ann that I will go through and get back to you.

While I'm here there are deaths and marriages I can't find in this area??

Marriage of Donald Urquhart to Isabella McGregor.
The birth of Donald Urquhart to Kenneth Urquhart and Helen Fraser.

The marriage of Kenneth Urquhart to Helen Fraser.

If families or people moved into an area from somewhere else in Scotland was there a document created or needed or did the Parish have to discuss whether they were allowed to stay??

I have been looking everywhere and not finding much. Can anyone help please??

Thanks Everyone
Kerry

Just wanted to say thankyou to you all for finding this information. Has helped a great deal.

Would anyone know how I would go finding out where people would have been buried at if they lived in Poolewe or Naast?? I have a Donald Urquhart married to Isabella McGregor. They were living in a croft in Naast I think no 111 or 12. When I visited there last year I searched the graveyard but could not find a headstone.

Just a question to GMac as well. Does this look like we could be related???? Through Roderick and Christy.

Regards

Kerry

Hi

Just wondering if you could help me. I am looking for any information on a Donald Urquhart who married an Issabella McGregor they lived near Poolewe. Have not been able to find anything on the families. I am not sure where to find any burial records for them. They were born in the early 1770's.

Also, another family is the Chisholms. I have a Christina Chisholm who married a Kenneth Urquhart in 1828 in Gairloch. Christina's fathers name was Roderick and her mothers maiden name was Christina or Christian??
if you could help with any information it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

My grt x 2 grandfather was supposed to be born in Staleybridge Lancashire in 1842. If anyone could give me a push in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

« on: Wednesday 01 July 09 19:52 BST (UK)  »
Looking for information on John Hannan b. 1788 in the Parish of Magheracloony. On John Hannans death certificate (Maitland NSW Australia) his fathers name is listed as Peter Hannan, no mothers name. May have also had a brother by the name of Peter.
Enlisted in the 13th Regiment of the Light Dragoons (Cavalry Unit) at Bailieborough in Jan 1808.

If anyone can help with information on this family, please contact me.

Suffolk Lookup Requests / Re: Birth/Baptism Lookup Please - Sarah ROPER - Lavenham
« on: Wednesday 01 April 09 11:13 BST (UK)  »
Hi Pat,

Just wanted to see how you were getting on with your back. I hope it has improved since the last time we spoke.

Wanted to pick your brain if possible. With Ray Long passing away do you know if there is anyone I can contact regarding a relative that I have found in common in his tree? Sent an email to his Cosford database address which was a bit silly of me. Not sure where I should go with this?

Still having problems with my Roper clan. Haven't done the newspaper thing but hope to in the next few weeks. Still doing physio after breast reconstruction surgery. Getting there slowly. I am having hassles with my links to this family in Lavenham. On Rays database in Lavenham it is showing Sarah Ropers mother to be Elizabeth Roper single as mine is. On the Monks Eleigh Parish register it shows Sarah Roper being 2 1/2 at time of christening. There is another Sarah Roper showing up in Laveham as a birth about the time of my Sarahs birth. Just need to know who Sarah Ropers parents were in Laveham. If this is just the birth register and not baptism I think she is my girl.

Hope all is well and take care

Kerry

Hi Pat,

Sorry to hear you have had back problems. Take it easy. I appreciate anything you can dig up. I thought of posting an add in a local paper, might be worth a go. Would you please be able to give me the name of popular newspaper in the area.

Thanks again for all of your help,

Kerry

Thanks so much Pat.

Have a hard copy of Sarah Ropers Parish entry dated 10th March 1790 in Monks Eleigh. She was 2 1/2 at the time of christening. Driving me crazy. Wonder if there is anything in Lavenham Parish church records. Would be a longshot. She would not have been christened twice though. Confusing myself now.

Looked on Cosford database and found entry you said. I have a copy of the bastardy order for Edward Smith and that Sarah Roper (by accident though). Will keep plodding along. Having another dispute re if Elizabeth Roper b. 1754 Chelsworth is girls mother now. I have a copy of a settlement document that was sent to Little Waldingfield for Elizabeth Roper jnr b. 1784 only got this all today (she was eight at the time). A witness was William Roper so I thought that the Chelsworth mob might be the right ones.

You have been a great help.

Thankyou

Kerry
