Northumberland Lookup Requests / Re: Searching for Elizabeth Lee
« on: Saturday 25 October 08 20:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi Eric,
yes I am still using rootschat. I'm sorry it's taken so long to respond, but because I like to spend hours and hours in blocks researching the family tree, I limit myself to when I'm on holiday (I'm a teacher). I'd be really interested in any information you have regarding Elizabeth Lee. She was my Gt Gt Grandmother. She's the one that my Grandma was named after (Bessie), apparently that's what she was known as.

Regards,

Carol
Hi Carol
Elizabeth Lee was born 6 October 1858 in 3, Pill St., Gungreen. That's in Eyemouth, Scotland. Her parents were George Lee and Margaret Cullen. She married William Henry Wild on 26 July 1880 in Berwick on Tweed and I have 8 children by this marriage; Agnes Lee wild b.24 Dec.1884 (my grandmother)
                William Wild b.1890 Alnwick, Northumberland
George T. Wild b. 1882 Berwick on Tweed
Sarah Elizabeth Wild b. 1883 Berwick on Tweed
                Mary E. Wild b.1892 Sheffield
                Margaret Wild b. 1894 Sheffield
                Edith A. Wild b. 1897 Sheffield
                Lilley J. Wild b. 1900 Sheffield

William Henry was born abt. 1860 in Sheffield and died bef. 27 February 1915.
He had some interesting job's, Cat gut preparer, Tripe dresser and labourer.
His father was William Wild who died after 26 July 1880 when he was shown as a saw handle maker.  Elizabeth's occupation in 1880 is Domestic Servant

I don't know if you want the census details but I have them from 1861 to 1901 if you do. Just let me know.

My main problem is that I have been unable to find marriage details for George Lee and Margaret Cullen, despite visiting Berwick and spending a long time in the records office. As far as I can work out George's father was named George and his mother was Ann, but I'm Still working on that.
I hope you find the information useful
                                                               Eric

I'm hoping that someone can help me find Elizabeth Lee.

Elizabeth was born around 1859 in Scotland. She was living in Berwick Upon Tweed in 1881, but I'd like someone to let me know whether she was in Berwick in 1861 and 1871 as well. She should have been living with her parents during these times, but I don't know their names.

Any information would be gratefully received.

Carol.
Hi Carol, It's me again I have just noticed your message regarding Elizabeth Lee back in January. If you are still using rootschat I am able to let you have some more information. Elizabeth was my G.Grandmother. Eric

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Re: Tweedmouth - George Lee - birth look up
« on: Sunday 17 August 08 22:17 BST (UK)  »
Hello, I'm hoping that someone can help me, I've been searching all over the place with no luck!

I need to find proof (or otherwise) that a George Lee born in 1836/1837 in Tweedmouth is the son of George Lee (boatbuilder) and Ann Mitchell (who married on 7/3/1837).

Thanks

Carol

Hi Carol
The George Lee born about 1836 in Tweedmouth and married to Margaret Cullen is my G.G.Grandfather, and I was under the impression his father was George and Ann Mitchell. I now think he was the son of Robert Lee, mariner, and Mary Bryson, from christening records I found at Berwick records office showing the date of 19 July 1835. Iam in the process of rechecking the census details for 1841/51. The 1861/71 are correct and I hope I can tie these years up soon. I hope to do this over the next week and if successful I could let you have the details  ERIC
