I'm interested in Cuthbert Hickman as a member of the NZEF.  Do you have a photo of him, as I might have but no names attached.  need something to compare.
Have you got Cuthberts war records from NZ Archives, free off the net. See 2 files.

Hello Ronin56, You will no doubt have Cuthberts war records from NZ by now. He went to Cambridge in 1918 on an OTC course with my grandfather and about 13 other NZ soldiers.   I don't suppose you have a photo of Cuthbert?

Kent Lookup Requests / Re: William Howell

I'm a bit late to this.  I can tell you a little about Agnes.  She's the dau of Frank Jerome and Hannah Moor(e).  They married in the  Bay of Islands in the 1840's.  Agnes has 3 brothers, Frank (French)?,  Hamlin, and Alfred Edward.  All recorded in the Church records in the BoI, not on the official records.    Frank Jerome was either French or Portugese according to a note in a Ledger book held in the Auckland Library.  He was  Tailor by trade and when moved to Auckland had a business in High St. He and Hannah appear to have vanished from NZ.
Son Hamlin changed his name to Joseph Hamlin.  I think he married Margaret Paton.  Sorry don't have this info at my fingertips.
Hope this helps.

Hello Don ,   I'm researching WWI soldiers and am interested in Carl Christian Olsen as a member of the 1 st Light Trench Mortar Battery.  His next of kin was C.F - brother- from Tory St Petone.
Is this chap one of your Olsen family?
I'm not a relative, just interested in the WWI connection for my research.

Mare and Lesanne,
I spoke to one of the Maramarua Coxheads a day or so ago.  Couple live in Thames, they know there is a family connection with the Manurewa family but that's about it.  One of the earlier land owners at Maramarua/Mangatarata was George, (see Archway), that's why i got interested because The chap from WWI- DOD - was also George.
If by chance there's a photo of George WWI in the publications, I'd be interested.

Lesanne, thanks for that.  No I'm not part of the clan.  Just hoping to track down family of george to include some info and or photo of him for this war history.
I have contacted 1 or 2 in Auckland who are related but no info,  think I need to contact the Aussie side somehow.

I had a quick look for Coxhead creek plan and came up with this attached.  Doesn't mention Coxhead, instead Webster who was big land owner back in the late 1800's.  This is the earliest plan available in the area and shows Coxhead Creek although not named then.  Webster bought the land from the Maoris some time in the 1840's probably, but it took years to ratify the land claim, hence the later date penciled 1886.
Thanks for the WWI link also

Lesanne,  I'm researching soldiers who fought in NZ Army WWI and KIA or DOW.
I'm looking for info on 1 George Coxhead, (Dd of Disease) who had his uncle George as NOK from Manurewa NZ.  He was son of Henry James and Mrs J Derley (remarried) from Sydney.
If you have any clues on this Coxhead family I would appreciate any help you can give.
Are you still looking for info on Coxhead in Mahurangi which I saw along the way.  Just may be able to help you with a property Plan from 1800's, but yet to look.
This is my first msg on this site.

regards

Keith
