I am looking to see if any of you good people could shed some light on a search block I have come across.
My Gr.Grandfather, who died in 1945-50 is coming up an awful lot in searches as Philip Valente, I mean there are just too many coincidences for it not to be him, But one of my Uncles said his name was Ralph, Which is what we called my Father, whose real name was John Raffaele Milne. In doing a search, a R Valenete came up in the phone book for Pollockshaws Rd for the time period, An address which I know for certain he did live at.
My Uncle said his first name and not his middle name was definiitely Ralph

Appreciate any help in advance.

In my infinite wisdom, I thought it looked like Odessa McJubbin  :)

All the family seemed to hail from the Glasgow area, and as far back as I've gone, Odessa has never really shown up that often.

I took a look through my tree and the only John McCready I have for that time period is in the 1901 census as living in Barrhead. Seems to be a load of McCready's running around Staffordshire at the time.

Yeah, One of my relatives told me about that, it is the correct Robert. Of what I know, Him and my Gr Grandfather went down to Staffordshire for mining work, where they married Sisters, Ester and Frances Griffiths.

Wow thanks very much Murphy, that's brilliant. I did a bit of research and there were two Daniels born within two years of each other, and the one who was killed there seems to be the other one which is actually a bit of a relief, I can only imagine how bad it must have been for a mother and father to lose Two sons at war never mind Three.
Thanks again, it was truly a great help.
