Thank you Brian & Shaun. I think I'm going to be spending some time on danishfamilysearch.com in the near future!  :)

Brian, you are a star! One of her daughters had the middle name of Magrethe too. Thank you so much for looking for her.  ;D

Europe / Denmark - Florentine Mariane Baggesen

Hoping someone can help me prove or disprove an idea I have.

A distant cousins wife was called Florentina M Benson, born c1837 in Elsinore, Denmark. She married Robert Henry Williams in Kensington, London in 1857.

On searching for information on her I came across this entry on familysearch:

Florentine Mariane Baggesen
Gender:   Female
Christening Date:   14 Jun 1836
Christening Place:   TRINITATIS,KOBENHAVN,KOBENHAVN,DENMARK
Birth Date:   05 May 1836
Father's Name:   Berkmann Ludvig Baggesen
Mother's Name:   Marie Johanne Lund
Indexing Project (Batch) Number: C20106-6 , System Origin: Denmark-ODM , GS Film number: 44561

The names are pretty similar as is year of birth, though I know Copenhagen is not the same place as Elsinore. Are there any records available in Denmark which would show Florentine Baggesen living in Denmark, and therefore disprove my theory that she is Florentina Benson?

I have found her in the UK census' for 1861, 1871, 1881 and 1901, but have not been able to find out when she arrived in the UK and have not found her or her family in 1891. I have not yet obtained a copy marriage certificate (which would show her father), only because it's my own little rule to only get certificates for my direct ancestors unless absolutely necessary.

Would be very grateful for any suggestions, help or guidance on online resources I could check.

Other Countries / Denmark - Florentine Mariane Baggesen

Have just realised I should have put this on the European board, whoops  ::) sorry, I'll put it in there instead.

I wonder if anyone can help me prove a suspicion I have:

I have found the wife of a distant cousin is called Florentina M Benson, born c1837 in Elsinore, Denmark. She married Robert Henry Williams in Kensington, London in 1857. (As this family is not on my main line id rather not have to buy a copy certificate, to get parent info etc, if I can find the info some other way).

I have found this entry on familysearch:

from Denmark Baptisms
Name:   Florentine Mariane Baggesen
Gender:   Female
Christening Date:   14 Jun 1836
Christening Place:   TRINITATIS,KOBENHAVN,KOBENHAVN,DENMARK
Birth Date:   05 May 1836
Father's Name:   Berkmann Ludvig Baggesen
Mother's Name:   Marie Johanne Lund
Indexing Project (Batch) Number: C20106-6 , System Origin: Denmark-ODM , GS Film number: 44561

I think the name sounds very similar and was wondering if this could possibly be the same person. Though I know Copenhagen isn't the same place as Elsinore. I wonder if there are any records available in Denmark which would show her living there rather than in England and thus disprove my theory? Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.

Durham Lookup Requests / Monumental inscriptions - Heighington - WALDON
« on: Thursday 04 September 14 22:58 BST (UK)  »
Hi, does anyone out there have the M.I.'s for Heighington and would be willing to do a quick look up to see if there are any WALDONs listed please? Specifically, I'm looking for a Christopher and Mary who were buried 1789 and 1794 respectively. Very many thanks in advance.

Sorry, I don't have any other info on Michael. The info I do have was taken from his daughters marriage certificate. I just seem to hit dead-ends (pardon the pun) everywhere I turn with this family, so any suggestions would be gratefully received.
