Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Wife name ?
« on: Thursday 11 July 24 16:37 BST (UK)  »
Thank you. It is a single marriage there is a line drawn between each entry.
Pomeroy is spelled in so many different ways so Im fairly confident it is Pomeroy but Richorde Reveland is a great help. It doesn't come up in FindMyPast but its a start .
Thank you

Roger Pomeroy of Brixham his ancestry here on my website
https://sites.google.com/site/pomeroytwigs2/sir-thomas-pomeroy-1547

1539 Baron Thomas Pomeroy Esq., organised the marriage of his younger brother Hugh of Tregony and the marriage settlement was drafted by Sir John Russell.
Hugh Pomeroy wife was to be Johan Borman or Bowerman and niece to Sir John. This settlement served as an entail which saved Tregony and Stockleigh Pomeroy from the sale of 1547 coming into play many years later, bringing Tregony back into the hands of Roger Pomeroy, of Sandridge

Roger Pomeroy b 1629 married Jane Wyvell /Willis dau of Joan wife of  Elias Wyvell of Saltash who left Joan and her children 40/- in her will-
Mentioned in  the 1667  Will of JOAN WYVELL widow of Egloskerry, are the grandchildren of  Joan Wyvell :- Ellias Pomeroy, Joane Pomeroy , Elizabeth Pomeroy

Date & place of marriage has not been found either in FindMyPast or in Cornwall OPC or in Visiations
However the Civil War might account for this

Mr Roger Pomeroy FindMyPast & the Parish Register

Essex / Re: Hornblow
« on: Wednesday 15 June 22 09:01 BST (UK)  »
John Hornblow born 1744 on BARNES on the Thames . I have detailed this on my website. https://sites.google.com/view/sarah-hornblow-1820-settler/rev-john-hornblow
His obit says he was born in Halstead so I can only assume that this is what  he believed having lived there for much of his life . The family evidently moved from Barnes to Halstead before 1755.
They may have lived elsewhere for a short time after his brother Jeronimo or Jeremiah  arrived 1749   however I have not discovered where, there is a 6 year gap in the information, but by 1755  they were in Halstead in Essex ; John was 10 years old by then

Has anyone got anything on. either the Mundy family or the Mylles - around Launceston
William Mylle was Mayor of Launceston and his unnamed daughter married Thomas Hext/ Hickes another mayor of Launceston. Hext's 1595 Will  gives both these names, his  daughter Florence married a Mr Mundy and the lands his wife  brought to the marriage went to his eldest son and his granddaughter Jane Pomeroy.
I have been unable  to dig anything up about either family that seems relevant
All I have is William Mylle was Mayor of Launceston 1539 & 1544
Mill, William, mayor of Launc’n the Duchy accounts of 1556, William Mill, mayor, certified….
Richard Mylle and his son William were both Mayors of Launceston
