Two clergymen related by marriage: John MacLennan and Finlay Macrae - do they appear ?
I found this, don't know if there's a connection though.

Thanks, I have seen this entry and the year, month and day are shown in that order so it is indeed 5th October 1908.
By the way I have sent for the marriage certificate and I'm sure it will confirm he is my missing man!

Hi BrianEwen, it's been a while since you mentioned that you were interested in Margaret Stephen. I have just remembered that another person in my husband's Stephen line had been in touch with Margaret's brother in  law, Sylvester Skinner. He showed her a photo album he had of Margaret's. I wonder if it was the same one? Can you tell me the name of the family that kept in touch with her or have you already found the connection?
Regards,

Sorry for this late reply. Although there are 8 entries under the surname of Cairns, none refer to a James Cairns. I hope you manage to find some information on him elsewhere,
Kind regards,

Thank you everyone for your help. Yes,Rosie that is my entry in Curiousfox. I've been hunting for John for decades! Carolew, I will be buying a marriage certificate. Do the Welsh marriage certificates give as much detail as the Scottish ones?

Denbighshire / Death in Bradley, Wrexham.

Hi, I am looking for some help in identifying a man who died in 1981. His name was John Cartney Taylor, of 1 Hollybush Close, Bradley. I got information from ancestry regarding him. (England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations), 1858-1995). The England & Wales, Civil Registration Death Index, 1916-2007 shows his date of birth as 5th October 1901. My great uncle's d.o.b. was 5th October 1908. He was last heard of in 1926 in Aberdeenshire, his birth county, Scotland. Can anyone suggest a way to find out if this is my relative before I order a death certificate? Do Welsh ones name the mother of the deceased? Would there be an obituary for him in a local newspaper maybe?  Is there a way to find out if he's buried and has a headstone perhaps?Any assistance would be most welcome, thanks.
