Found her - thanks to dbree for the research!

We aren't allowed to post details of living/possibly living people and some of the ones you've posted could very well be alive. Recent Canadian vital records for all Provinces have restricted access to recent ones. Have you tried contacting both your match and her mutual matches?OK, thanks. I'm happy to accept DMs. My match isn't responding to messages, other matches are very distant. I'm the closest by a long way.
We're trying to track down a relationship shown up with my wife's (Annette D) Ancestry DNA match and would appreciate some help/advice.
Annette's DNA matches show Guy M as 1st cousin 1x removed or half 1st cousin (497 cM | 7% shared DNA), and his sister Daphne M as 1st cousin 1x removed (378 cM | 5% shared DNA). Paternal side
Guy & Daphne's mother was Margaret E (married to Willam M)
Margaret E's mother was Florence E, her father is unknown
It therefore seems likely, we think, that Margaret E's father was either Annette D's grandfather on her father's side, or one of his brothers.
I'm not well versed with cM & % - is it more likely to be Annette D's grandfather, or one of his brothers?
Using Ancestry Pro Tools I now have the shared DNA of Guy M and the great grandson of one of Alfred D's brothers, Gavin D, which is 275cM
Putting the cM figures into DNA Painter, which I've just discovered, gives a 71% probability that Margaret E's father was Alfred D
Does that seem reasonable?

Agree that the information is insufficient but other factors which may help are where Annette's grandfather and his brothers were at the relevant time.Unfortunately that doesn't help in this case, Annette's grandfather & his brothers were all living within about 8 miles of where Florence E was likely living, so it could potential have been any of them!
I had a similar dilemma but the fact that 2 of the 3 possibilities had emigrated well before the relevant birth provided a clear solution to my problem
Three matches isn't enough to work with and answer the query I'm afraid so adding in shared matches is required. These might help point the way but much depends on the matches that are available.Yes, I realise that more matches would help. We've found a distant cousin, descended from one of Annette D's grandfather's brothers, who's had a DNA test, just asking him if he'll share the results.
