Note from Sir James Emerson-Tennent to his son, William, saying the following:

1848--Sir James Emerson Tennent does not want his son, Willy, to have any contact with  Arbuthnot Emerson's son, George Hill Emerson. George Hill Emerson was then living with a clergyman in Liverpool in the hopes of reclaiming himself from drunkeness and vices of every description

As always, I am thankful for your additional input.
My curiosity concerns Arbuthnot Macaulay Emerson.  I know that Sir James Emerson -Tennent wrote a letter to his son , Sir William, warning him to stay away from George Hill Emerson (Arbuthnot's father)as George had been put under special care in an attempt to bring a halt to his drinking and other bad vices.  Looking at Arbuthnot Macaulay Emerson's life, perhaps this special care was to no avail.

Some researchers have the following Isabella being the dau of a Rev. William Tennent.  However, in 1798 the
Rev. John Tennent was ministering to a member of Roseyards who was to be hung for his  role as being a member of the United Irishmen.  The Rev. Tennent's own sons were also politically active with William eventually being imprisoned for four years.  As one of Isabella's daughters was buried in Roseyars and
Her husband also politically active, I believe that Isabella is the dau of the Rev. John.

Many thanks, Aghadowey.  It makes much more sense now that her father was the William who passed away in 1873.  I was confused as some research material had her listed as being the niece of Dr. Sir James Anderson when your informations shows that she would have been his grand niece which makes complete sense date wise.
